Kuemper was able to get to the rim in the 1st half, keeping the game close, but struggled to stop Harlan size and physicality on both ends of the floor and the Cyclones pulled away in the 2nd half to win. The Knights fell down by 10 in the 1st quarter but used a 10-0 run to tie the game and missed a long 3 at the buzzer that would have put them ahead heading to the 2nd quarter. Both offenses heated up in the 2nd quarter as the Knights were able to attack the rim but were struggling from the outside. Harlan was pounding the ball inside, using their physical advantage to control the boards. They were also able to get to the rim on the dribble drive. The Cyclones outscored the Knights 29-20 in the 2nd quarter to lead by 11 at half. The Knights finished the game shooting 37.5% from the field but only 6-26 from the 3-point line. The Cyclones hit 61.9% on 2-point shoots and 60.4% from the field as a whole. They were 6-11 from three.
Carson Kanne put Kuemper up 3-0 but Harlan answered with a 5-0 run. Kanne scored again to tie the game at 5 but Harlan ran off 10 straight. Brock Badding scored to stop the streak and the Knights answered reeling off 10 straight with Taye Vonnahme cutting it to 15-13 and Carson Kanne tying the game at 15 early in the 2nd quarter. After a Harlan three, Carter Putney hit a three, tying the game at 18. That would be the last time the Knights were able to tie the game. Harlan went on a 5-0 run, stopped by a Michael Kasperbauer bucket. The Cyclones scored 4 in a row again and led 27-20. Brock Badding knocked down a three, cutting the deficit to 27-23. Carter Putney scored for Kuemper, stopping a Harlan 6-0 spurt that put them up by 10. Putney scored again and Kuemper was down by 6. Tregan Beiter scored to pull the Knights within 5 at 36-31 but Harlan closed out the half on a 8-2 run to lead by 11.
Tregan Beiter scored to open the 2nd half, pulling Kuemper within 44-35 but the Knights wouldn’t get within single digits the rest of the game. The Cyclones led 57-44 after 3 and put the game on ice with about 3:00 left, leading by 15.
Carter Putney led Kuemper with 11 points, 4 rebounds and was second on the team with 2 steals. The Knights were outrebounded 38-15. Tregan Beiter added 10 points and Brock Badding had 3 steals.
The Knights have dropped 2 in a row, falling to 11-3. They host Clarinda on Tuesday.

The Wildcats battled hard in the 1st half, holding Ogden to 9 points in the 2nd quarter after trailing by 7 after the 1st quarter. The game begin to slip away in the 3rd quarter when they were outscored by 8. Their best offensive quarter was the 4th quarter were they scored 10 points. The loss was their 8th straight, dropping them to 2-11 overall.
Emmett Snyder paced the Wildcats with 12 points, no other player scored more than 4.
