State Qualifying Girls Swimming Results Saturday, November 5th
Carroll At Fort Dodge
Carroll will send five events to the State Swim Meet next Saturday, advancing two relays and three individual events. The Tigers dropped time in every event on Saturday and Head Coach Deb Danner was extremely pleased with the way the team competed. Emma Myers helped set the tempo, qualifying in two individual events, including the 100 breaststroke, taking 1st place in the qualifying meet and setting a new school record of 1:05.93. She is seated 5th heading into the State Meet. Myers had qualified earlier in the meet in the 200 IM, taking 4th place at the qualifying meet and is seated 19th going into State. Myers is also part of both of the relays that qualified. The 200 Medley Relay started the day taking 5th place at the qualifying meet in 1:53.35 and will be 17th seed at State. Joining Myers in the event is Hailey Burns, Amelia Holt and Zelda DeMoss. Burns and Holt were also part of the 200 Free Relay team along with Myers and Natalie Kent. They finished 5th on Saturday in 1:42.50 and will be seated 16th at State. Amelia Holt will join Myers as a State qualifier in an individual event. She took 6th place in the 50 Free, in 25.55 and qualified 31st for the State Meet.
Some of the Tigers other top finishers from Saturday’s Qualifying Meet were Hailey Burns taking 7th in the 100 Free in 56.29 and the 400 Free Relay finishing 7th in 3:57.09 with Amelia Holt, Natalie Kent, Zelda DeMoss and Hailey Burns.
