Audubon, Coon Rapids Bayard, South Central Calhoun and East Sac At IKM-Manning Invite
Audubon, Coon Rapids Bayard, South Central Calhoun and East Sac were all in action Thursday when they competed at the IKM-Manning Invite.
IKM-Manning as a team had the strongest showing among our area teams, finishing second to Woodbine with 48 team points. East Sac finished the meet fourth as a team with a score of 84 and South Central Calhoun was fifth with a score of 131. Audubon and Coon Rapids Bayard did not have a team score as they did not run a full team.
At their home meet, the Wolves continue to run very well with four top 15 finishes and five medalists. Caden Keller came home with another second-place finish with a time of 16:29.05. Lane Sams and Reed Hinners rounded out the top ten with ninth and tenth place finishes with times of 18:18.25 and 18:21.77 respectively. Abe Polzien was the last medalist for IKM-Manning, finishing in 20th place with a time of 19:21.77. Wolves’ head coach Robert Cast says he was pleased with his guys’ times as their course is a very accurate 5K race distance.
East Sac had three medalists themselves with three top 15 finishes. Parker Engel had the best time amongst his teammates finishing in sixth place with a time of 18:12.77. The other two medalists for the Raiders were Isaiah Engel and Landon Sporrer who finished in 11th and 12th with times of 18:26.49 and 18:28.60.
South Central Calhoun had some nice finishes as well with one medalist. Tristan Blair was that medalist who finished 18th with a time of 19:19.55. Redge Potts finished inside the top 30 at 28th with a final course time of 20:13.17. Joe Thielen was just outside the top 30 in 31st place completing the meet with a time of 20:33.96. Eli Wheelock was a few places behind Thielen in 36th place with a time of 21:11.45.
Coon Rapids Bayard also got a runner who finished the meet as a medalist. Landon Cook had another nice finish for the Crusaders finishing in 17th with a time of 19:71.31. Logan Kenyon was the other runner Coon Rapids Bayard had run at this meet as he finished with a final time of 26:58.34.
Finally, Audubon had two runners at this meet. Mason Steckler finished in 43rd place with a time of 21:57.64 and Eli Deist finished 51st with a time of 22:58.87.
