Kuemper offense came alive on Tuesday, picking up 13 hits, including 6 extra base hits. The Knights used that and 3 walks to score 12 runs and end the game in the 5th inning. Logan Sibenaller and Cal Wanninger combined on the hill to allow 1 hit, struck out 10 and walked 6.

Carter Putney hit the first of his two doubles in the 1st inning and scored on a sac fly from Cal Wanninger. The Knights erupted for 5-runs in the 2nd inning. Trevor Rial walked to start the inning and have a fly out, Max Irlmeier reached base and Koby Lampman walked with 2 outs. Logan Sibenaller doubled to score a run and Carter Putney hit his second double to score 2 more runs. Cal Wanninger picked up his second RBI with a single. Nate Heinrichs started the 5-run rally in the 4th inning with a walk, followed by a single from Koby Lampman. Logan Sibenaller got on base for the second time in the game and Cal Wanninger doubled to score a pair of runs. Benicio Lujano followed the double with a triple to score 2 more and John Boes singled to score the final run of the inning.

Logan Sibenaller and Cal Wanninger each had 3 hits with Wanninger finishing with 4 RBI. Benicio Lujano drove in  a pair of runs and Carter Putney had a pair of double and drove in 3-runs. Putney and Koby Lampman both scored twice. Logan Sibenaller pitched 2 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 6. Cal Wanninger threw the other 2 innings, striking out 4.

The Knights improved to 16-14 overall and 8-10 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. They host Glenwood for a varsity doubleheader on Wednesday.

Carroll defense struggled on Tuesday night, making 6 errors, allowing 12 unearned runs as they fell to the Cyclones in 6 innings. The Tigers allowed only 6 hits, but walked 10 and didn’t strike anyone out and Harlan was able to take advantage late in the game, scoring 6-runs in the 6th to end the game, after they held Carroll in the bottom half. The Tigers scored a run in the 1st inning and added their other run in the 3rd inning.

Evan Loew got Carroll on the board in the 1st inning, scoring on a wild pitch to tie the game at 1. Carroll pulled within 6-2 in the 3rd when Cooper Ludwig doubled, scoring Evan Loew.

Carroll finished with 3 hits with Evan Loew having 2 of them, including a triple and scoring both of their runs. Cooper Ludwig doubled for their third hit. He drove in a run.

The loss drops Carroll to 1-22 overall. Carroll heads to Denison Schleswig on Wednesday.

IKM-Manning won a pitchers dual in the bottom 7th when Cooper Perdew took a 2-0 pitch and drove it over the left-center field fence for a walk-off home run. That was just the third hit of the game combined as IKM-Manning finished with 2 hits and Exira-EHK had 1 hit. Max Nielsen started on the hill for IKM-Manning and struck out 11, while Tyler Kingery started for the Spartans. Treyton Barry finished the game, facing just 7 batters for the Wolves and did a nice job inducing ground balls.

Cooper Perdew had one of the Wolves 2 hits, hitting the solo home run in the 7th. Lane Sams had the other Wolves hit. Max Nielsen went 5 innings, allowing 1 hit,  to go with 11 strikeouts. Treyton Barry finished off the last 2 innings, allowing a walk.

The Wolves improve to 8-12 overall and will host MVAOCOU on Wednesday.

Will Ragaller singled up the middle with Braeden Kirsch on 3rd in the bottom 9th to give the Rockets a hard fought win. Kirsch singled to start the inning and moved to 3rd on a pair of fielders choices from Blayne Smith and Wyatt Ragaller. The Rockets nearly lost, after taking a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning. Riverside scored a pair of runs in the 3rd, then tied the game with a run in the 6th. The Rockets received a very strong pitching performance from Braeden Kirsch and Cooper Kock, as they combined to allow 4 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 9. Ar-We-Va out hit the Bulldogs 9-4 and had three players with multi hit games and five players with at least one hit.

Damon Ehlers led the Rocket offense with 2 hits, including their only extra base hit, He scored a run. Will Ragaller and Braeden Kirsch both had a pair of hits with Kirsch scoring twice and Ragaller driving in Kirsch for the game winning run. Kirsch pitched 5 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 5. Cooper Kock went 4 innings for the win, giving up 2 hits and 2 earned runs with 4 strikeouts.

The Rockets improve to 6-12 overall and will take on IKM-Manning in Class 1A District playoff action in Kingsley on Saturday.

The game see-sawed back and forth with CAM Anita getting the last run of momentum, scoring 4-runs in the bottom of the 7th to win by a run. The Cougars rally came after Audubon had scored 6 times in the top of the 7th to take the lead at 11-8. Audubon rallied from down 7-2 early, pulling within 8-5, heading into the 7th inning. The Wheelers loaded the bases in the top of the 7th with a few walks and a couple of singles, then got the big hit from Braden Wessel. He doubled, scoring 3-runs and tying the game at 8. CAM Anita defense made a few mistakes, helping the Wheelers score 3 more runs in the inning. CAM Anita got a pair of walks after strikeout started the inning. Lane Spieker reached on an error and after a strikeout the Wheelers walked in a run. A ground ball nearly ended the game, but the Cougars took advantage of a Wheeler error to keep the inning alive. A pair of hit-by-pitch scored the final two runs to win the game.

Aaron Olsen, Gavin Smith, Carson Meaike and Braden Wessel all had 2 hit. Wessel doubled and drove in 4-runs while scoring twice. Gavin Smith had a double and scored a run and Olsen drove in a run and scored a run. Carson Meaike scored twice and drove in a run. Gavin Larsen doubled, drove in a run and scored a run. Gavin Smith pitched 3 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs.

Audubon falls to 11-11 on the season. They play Stanton in Coon Rapids on Saturday to open the postseason. The game will be broadcast on 93.7 KKRL.

South Central Calhoun scored a pair of runs in the 1st inning and led the game into the 4th. Things started slipping away in the 5th when Roland Story scored 3-runs to lead 9-1. The Titans had one nightmarish inning in the 7th, allowing 12-runs to make the final score worse than the game was.

The Titans collected 8 hits with 3 of them doubles. They had seven different players pick up a hit with Brock Nattress leading the team with 2 hits. Jayden Soard, Jacob Kalkwarf and Kaden Dorman all had doubles. Dorman added an RBI while Soard and Kalkwarf both scored. Charlie Nattress added an RBI and Brock Nattress stole 3 bases.

The Titans slip to 5-12 on the season and will host IKM-Manning on Thursday.

Coon Rapids Bayard dropped their fourth straight game, with one bad inning and struggles on the hill being the culprit on Tuesday. The Warriors scored 8-runs in the 3rd inning and then held off a late rally by the Crusaders. Coon Rapids Bayard scored 6-runs over the final 3 innings, with 2 in the 5th, 1 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th. The Crusaders pitched 5 guys and they combined to allow 7 hits and 8 earned runs with 6 strikeouts and 12 walks.

Coon Rapids Bayard out hit Alta-Aurelia 8-7 with Easton Hays and Preston McAlister both having 2 hits. Hays scored 3 times and McAlister had 2 RBI. The Crusaders had 4 extra base hits with Easton Hays having a triple and Cal Heydon, Gabe Obert and Preston McAlister all doubling. Preston McAlister pitched 3 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 3.

The Crusaders fall to 21-7 on the season. They will host AHSTW on Saturday in the opening round of the post season with the game on 93.7 KKRL after the Audubon Vs Stanton game.
