Kuemper picked up a conference win on Saturday morning as they completed a game suspended on June 14th at Lewis Central. The game was tied at 6 in the 8th inning and finished on Saturday. Kuemper took control in the 9th inning, scoring 3-runs with one out. Melinda Schaefer started the run with a single, followed by a walk to Jordan Schwabe. Kenzie Schon doubled, her second of the game, driving in Schaefer, Schwabe scored moments later on a passed ball. Kenadee Loew singled, scoring Schon. Lewis Central got a runner to 3rd in the bottom 9th but Kamryn Venner was able to finish off the rally with a ground out to shortstop and a strikeout.
Kuemper had four hitters with 2 hits in the game, Hailey Ostrander added 2-runs scored, Kenzie Schon doubled twice, driving in a pair of runs and scored 3 times. Kaylie Diercksen had two hits and Alexis Diercksen added an RBI with her 2 hits. Melinda Schaefer scored twice, Kenadee Loew had 2 RBI. Kamryn Venner got the win in the circle, going 2 innings, allowing 1 hit and striking out 2. Chloe Venteicher pitched 7 innings, allowing 9 hits and 3 earned runs.

Kuemper had to rally after falling behind 3-0 in the 1st inning, then had to hold on as Treynor tried to tie the game in the top of the 6th. They did both on Saturday, picking up a nice 6-5 win as Kenadee Loew took a throw from Hailey Ostrander at 3rd to tag out a Cardinal to end the game. Treynor would have had runners on 2nd and 3rd if the Knights wouldn’t have made the play late. Their rally began in the 4th inning, scoring 3-runs, they added 2 more in the 5th to take the lead for good. Treynor led 3-0 after the 1st inning, then scored a run in the top 5th to tie the game at 4.
Kaci Peter scored in the 3rd inning after stealing 2nd and 3rd base. That jump started the offense for the 4th inning. Kenzie Schon singled and scored on a double by Kenadee Loew. Loew scored to tie the game on a base hit by Kaylie Diercksen who scored the go ahead run on a Cardinal error. After the Cardinal tied the game in the top 5th, Jordan Schwabe reached on an error and scored on another double from Kenadee Loew. Alexis Diercksen drove in Loew with a base hit to right field. Treynor got a runner on with one out in the 6th on a Knight error then a single put runners on 1st and 2nd. Kamryn Venner struck out the next batter for the 2nd out. Treynor singled to left field to score the runner from 2nd but Hailey Ostrander threw a strike to Loew at 3rd for the game ending out.
Kenadee Loew and Alexis Diercksen both had 2 hits with Loew doubling twice, driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice. Alexis Diercksen finished with an RBI. Kamryn Venner got the win in the circle, throwing 2 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run. Chloe Venteicher threw 4 innings, with 5 hits, giving up 3 earned runs.

Josie Ayala drove home Brielle Hinners with the game ending run in the bottom 7th as the Tigers rallied from down 5-0 to hold off a Titan rally for the win. The Titans jumped out early, scoring 3-runs in the 1st inning, then 2 more in the 2nd inning. Carroll got going in the bottom 2nd inning with Josie Ayala starting the rally. They batted ten batters in the inning, scoring 6-runs to take the lead. Lewis Central scored a run in the top 6th to tie the game at 6. The Tigers finished with 11 hits, all singles, helping them score 7-runs.
Due to time constraints they used international rules in the 7th inning. Lewis Central moved the lead run to 3rd base but didn’t score. Brielle Hinners started at 2nd for Carroll. Ava Gross bunted her to 3rd and then Josie Ayala drove her in for the game ending run.
Parker Adams and Makalei Kofron both had 3 hits, Adams drove in a run and Kofron scored a run. Brielle Hinners drove in a run and scored twice. Josie Ayala had 2 RBI and drove in a run. Alyssa Brant earned the win, pitching 7 innings, allowed 9 hits and 3 earned runs with strikeouts.

Carroll took advantage of Kuemper mistakes in the 1st inning to along with 3 hits to build a 6-0 lead and won the tournament championship. Kuemper scored a pair of runs on a Kenzie Schon home run in the 3rd but the Tigers added a pair of runs on a double from Emma Kuhlmann in the 6th.
Parker Adams led off the game with a walk, Ava Gross reached on an error, Vanessa Ayala singled, driving in Adams, Josie Ayala walked and Camryn Schable singled driving in Gross. Vanessa and Josie scored on a Knight error, followed by a double from Makalei Kofron that scored the final 2-runs in a Tiger 6-run 1st inning. Jordan Schwabe singled for Kuemper in the 3rd and scored a 2-run home run from Kenzie Schon. Schon hit a screamer over the centerfield fence. Alexis Diercksen doubled in the 4th for the only other threat for Kuemper. Makalei Kofron singled followed by a Parker Adams single for Carroll in the 6th, they scored on a double from Emma Kuhlmann.
Kuemper Catholic Softball Tournament 6-25-22
Vanessa Ayala and Makalei Kofron both had 2 hits for Carroll. Ayala doubled with an RBI and scored a run. Kofron had 2 RBI. Brenna Goins scored twice. Camryn Schable singled and had an RBI. Parker Adams and Ava Gross each scored a run with 1 hit. Schable earned the win, going 6 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs.
Kenzie Schon had 2 hits for Kuemper with a 2-run home run. Schon and Jordan Schwabe both scored a run. Kamryn Venner pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 5.
Carroll goes 2-0 on the day and improves to 13-14 overall. They host Boone on Monday. Kuemper finished the day 2-1, improving to 16-13 overall and 11-4 in the Hawkeye 10. They head to Clarinda for a varsity doubleheader on Monday.
