A pitching dual, turned into a scoring offense slugfest in the middle innings as both defenses made several miscues. A Tiger error in the 5th allowed Saydel to score 4-runs in the inning while Saydel made 5 errors in the 4th and 5th inning combined with Carroll taking advantage to score 4 of their 5 runs in those two innings. A Tiger error helped Saydel get in position to score what turned into the game winning run in the top of the 7th.

Carroll struck first in the 3rd inning with back to back doubles from Tate Schleisman and Stone Sibenaller. Saydel battled back in the 4th stringing a pair of hits with 2-outs to score a run. Carroll used 3-hits and 2 Eagle errors to score 3 in the bottom 4th. Evan Loew and Ryan North singled back-to-back and Chase Ragaller doubled driving in a pair of runs. It looked like Carroll had the momentum but Saydel started the 5th inning with two singles and a Tiger error. A third single scored a pair of runs and a double drove in two more and Saydel took a 5-4 lead into the bottom 5th. Cooper Ludwig scored the tying run after reaching on an error, scoring on a throwing error by the Eagle Catcher. Carroll tied the game at 5 in the  5th. Saydel got a leadoff single in the 7th and the runner advanced on to 2nd on an error. A sac bunt moved the runner to 3rd and a ground out scored the run on a terrific defensive play by Dreylen Schweitzer who made a diving stop at shortstop and was able to get the runner at 1st base. Carroll had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom 7th but wasn’t able to score the tying run.

Stone Sibenaller had 3 of Carroll’s 9 hits. Sterling Rodman added a pair of hits. Chase Ragaller, Stone Sibenaller and Tate Schleisman all doubled with Ragaller picking up a pair of RBI. Dreylen Schweitzer pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing 7 hits and 2 earned runs.

Saydel scored 7 times in the 1st inning, finishing with 11 hits as they top Coon Rapids Bayard in 5 innings. Jacob Estrada homered in the 5th for the one of their 4 hits. The Crusaders settled after the 1st inning and played better, allowing only 7-runs over the next 3 innings. Cade Behrens pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing 8 hits and 6 earned runs to finish the game. Gabe Obert, Tanner Oswald and Cal Heydon all had hits for the Crusaders. Estrada drove a pitch deep over the left field fence for Coon Rapids Bayard in the 5th.

Carroll took the lead early with a run in the 2nd and another in the 3rd but Coon Rapids Bayard got the offense r0lling in the 3rd, scoring 5 in the bottom half, then adding 6 more in the 4th. They ended the game with a run in the bottom 5th to finish the tournament in 3rd place, going 1-1. Carroll wrapped up the tournament 0-2. The Crusaders out hit the Tigers 10-3 with Gabe Obert doubling and Kolby Culbertson tripling. Sterling Rodman doubled for Carroll High.

Lance Clayburg, Gabe Obert and Kolby Culbertson all had 2 hits for the Crusaders. Obert and Culbertson all had 3 RBI. Easton Hays picked up the win, going all 5 innings, giving up 3 hits, allowing 1 run and struck out 3.

Sterling Rodman, Chase Ragaller and Nolan Mohr all had hits for the Tigers. Stone Sibenaller pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing 5 earned runs with a strikeout.

Coon Rapids Bayard finished the day 12-2 and travel to Exira-EHK on Monday. Carroll is 1-13 on the season and will travel to Winterset on Monday.
