Kuemper may have got the win that will jump start this season as the Knights pull out a tough road win, getting a great pitching performance from Kamryn Venner, a good defensive performance and the offense which has struggled, came to life in the 7th, scoring all 3-runs in a one run win. The Knight defense and pitching then needed to come up big in the bottom 7th and did. Harlan scored a pair of runs and had the bases loaded with no outs. Kamryn Venner induced a popup to 2nd base, then struck out the next two batters to end the game with the bases still loaded. Venner struck out 12 Cyclones for the game.
The Knights offense could muster one baserunner before the 7th. Kenadee Loew walked in the 5th but was part of a double play to end the inning. In the 7th, Hailey Ostrander singled but was the 1st out on a force play at 3rd. Melinda Schaefer followed the Ostrander single with a single, putting runners on 1st and 2nd. Jordan Schwabe grounded into a fielders choice, giving the Knights runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Kenadee Loew was hit by pitch to load the bases and Kaylie Diercksen became the hero with a 3-run double.
Kuemper finished with 3 hits, highlighted by the double by Diercksen. Melinda Schaefer, Jordan Schwabe and Kenadee Loew scored their 3-runs. Kamryn Venner was terrific in the circle, striking out 12 in 7 innings, allowing just 4 hits and 2 earned runs.
The Knights improve to 4-9 on the season. They host St Albert for a varsity doubleheader on Tuesday.

Ar-We-Va picked up their first win of the season, using 12 hits along with 8 walks and 7 hit-by-pitches to score a season high 19 runs. The Rockets scored in every inning with the big innings the 1st and 7th. They fell behind briefly when West Harrison scored 6-runs in the 2nd inning, grabbing a 6-5 lead but Ar-We-Va tied it at 6 with a run in the 3rd. They grabbed the lead back in the 4th with a pair of runs but only led 10-9 heading into the 6th. Ar-We-Va pushed 3-runs across the board in the 6th, with 6 more in the 7th.
Maggie Ragaller was outstanding at the plate with 4 hits, including a double, the Rockets only extra base hit. Ragaller drove in 5-runs and scored once. Kora Obrecht and Amber Ragaller each had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Jamie Hausman and Kora Obrecht each scored 4 times with Sophie Jackson, Delaney Schurke, Emma Lieting and Amber Ragaller all scored twice.

South Central Calhoun nearly picked up their first win of the season, picking up 10 hits with three girls with 2 hits each. The Titans took the lead early with a run in the 2nd and 5 more in the 3rd. After losing the lead, they scored 3 more in the 6th to take an 10-9 lead but Manson NW Webster responded with a pair of runs in the bottom 6th. The Cougars big inning was the 5th with 5-runs, taking their first lead at 9-7.
Emma Anderson, Kylee Schleisman and Onna Hauper all had 2 hits with Anderson doubling twice and driving in 5 runs. Hauper finished with a pair of RBI and a run scored. Brenna McAlister doubled and scored twice. Evelyn Kramer scored twice.
The loss drops the Titans to 0-5. They host Carroll on KIKD 106.7 on Tuesday.

Audubon collected a pair of hits in falling to LoMa on Monday, Jordan Porsch had both singles for Audubon. The Panthers opened the game up with 5-runs in the 4th inning, then ended it with 4-runs in the bottom 6th. Addie Hocker, Victoria Asmus and Jordan Mulford all walked and Asmus was hit-by-pitch for the Wheelers other baserunners.
The loss drops the Wheelers to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the Western Iowa Conference. They travel to IKM-Manning on Tuesday.
