Jordan Schwabe had 3 of the teams 4 hits in the Knights loss. Hailey Ostrander picked up the other hit and both players had an RBI. Ostrander and Kaci Peter both scored a run. ELC scored in the 1st inning, building a 3-0 lead, then added to their lead in the 3rd inning, making it 5-0. The Knights cut into the deficit in the 3rd, scoring both of their runs. ELC put the game away with 3 more runs in the 7th inning.

Jordan Schwabe finished with 3 hits and Hailey Ostrander had the other hit for the Knights. Chloe Venteicher pitched 3 innings and Kamryn Venner threw the final 4 innings. They combined to allow 10 hits and 4 earned runs with 7 strikeouts.

The Knights had their offense going early against Atlantic but couldn’t maintain the momentum and fell with the Trojans scoring late to win. Both teams scored 4-runs in the 1st inning, with Atlantic grabbing their last run in the 7th, ending the game. The Knights out hit Atlantic 7-4 but left 4 on base.

Melinda Schaefer, Jordan Schwabe, Kenzie Schon and Kenadee Loew all singled in the 1st inning with Schaefer scoring on the Schon single and the other scoring on a double by Alexis Diercksen. The Knights didn’t score again but threatened in the 6th and 7th innings. Kenadee Loew reached 2nd base in the 6th after walking but was thrown out at 3rd base. Kamryn Venner walked in the 7th and was stranded at 3rd base. Atlantic answered the Knights 4-run 1st inning with 4 of their own in the 1st. They got a runner on with a 2-out single in the 7th and then scored the game ending run on a Kuemper error.

The losses drop Kuemper to 3-7 as they get ready to host St Edmond at the CYO Tournament on Saturday in Carroll.

Carroll collected 10 hits with a home run from Parker Adams as they nab a road win on Friday. Camryn Schable was effective in the circle, holding the Monarchs to 5 hits while striking out 6. The Tigers didn’t score in the 1st inning or 7th inning but scored in every other inning. The Monarchs tried to keep pace, scoring in 4 innings but were only able to score 1-run in 3 of those 4 innings.

Parker Adams had a 2-run home run for the Tigers, as her, Ava Gross and Emma Kuhlmann all had 2 RBI. Brielle Hinners, Camryn Schable and Makalei Kofron all had 2 hits with Schable doubling. Olivia Rowedder scored a pair of runs as Carroll had 7 different players score. Schable allowed 5 hits and 2 earned runs in the win in the circle.

Carroll improves to 4-6 overall and snaps a 3 game skid. They head to Atlantic for tournament play on Saturday and will play Atlantic at 9:00.

The Crusaders scored early and late as they squeezed out a huge conference win at home on Friday. They jumped out 1-0 in the 1st inning but fell behind when the Tigers scored 3 in the 3rd and 1 more in the 4th inning. Coon Rapids Bayard responded in the 6th to tie the game and then won it with a run in the 7th. Coon Rapids Bayard used 7 hits to score 5 times and had 6 different players collect a hit.

Emma Hart and Lacie Davis had back-to-back singles in the 1st inning, setting up an RBI single by Anna Hart to put the Crusaders up. Breeley Clayburg helped start the rally in the 6th inning as her and Anna Hart had base hits and Kadey Olson walked to load the bases. Malia Clayburg drove in a pair of runs with a hit and Olson scored on a passed ball to tie the game. In the 7th inning Breeley Clayburg was hit-by-pitch, then Anna Hart hit a ball deep to left field, the ball was misplayed and Clayburg scored the game winner.

Anna Hart led the team with 2  hits while Emma Hart, Lacie Davis, Miranda McClellan, Breeley Clayburg and Malia Clayburg all had base hits. Malia had two of the teams 3 RBI. Emma Hart got the win in the circle, allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs in the complete game victory.

The Crusaders are 4-2 overall and 4-1 in the Rolling Valley, a game behind Exira-EHK. They head to CAM Anita on Monday.

East Sac held on to pick up their first win of the season, collecting 17 hits in the process with 8 girls getting at least 1 hit and 6 having 2 hits or more. The Raiders offense was sharp early, scoring 5-runs in the 1st inning. They added a run in the 3rd, then got ahead 12-1 heading into the bottom of the 5th inning but gave up a pair of runs to extend the game. That helped ignite the Warriors who scored 2 more in the 6th and 4 in the 7th inning.

Emersyn Mack, Mary Bontrager and Meredith Brown all had 3 hits, Kami Ross, Maci Gustavson and Jen Aschinger all picked up a pair of hits. Aschinger had a team high 3 RBI while Kendall Quirk and Meredith Brown both drove in 2 runs. Mary Bontrager scored 4 times and Emersyn Mack scored 3 times.

East Sac sits 1-2 on the season and will host Pocahontas Area on Monday.

South Central Calhoun loaded the bases in the 1st inning but didn’t score. They would threaten again in the 2nd with a runner on 3rd but weren’t able to score. They didn’t threaten again until the 6th inning. They held Sioux Central in check pretty well most of the game, though they allowed 13 hits. The Rebels scored 3 times in the 1st inning but didn’t have another big scoring inning until they put 5 on the board in the 7th inning.

Mady Smidt and Keira Hammen both had doubles for the Titans and Olivia Toms and Addisyn Korleski had their other two hits. Smidt doubled in the 1st inning before being stranded at 3rd. Gracie Hungate walked in the 1st and Keira Hammen would be hit-by-pitch to load the bases with 2 outs. Hammen doubled in the 6th inning. Olivia Toms singled in the 2nd inning, stole 2nd and was stranded at 3rd to end the inning.

The loss drops the Titans to 0-5 overall. They host Manson NW Webster on Monday.

All of the runs in the game were scored in the 5th inning or later as the Wheelers had one slip away on Friday night. They scored 3 times in the 5th inning and led 3-0 even though they were out hit 10-7 in the game. Back-to-back errors in the 5th allowed Mattie Nielsen and Hannah Thygesen to get on base. Jordan Porsch singled up the middle, scoring Nielsen. Kylee Hartl stretched it to 3-0, driving in Thygesen and Hartl. Missouri Valley answered with 3-runs in the top 6th, using a triple, single and Wheeler error. The Big Red then took the lead in the top 7th, scoring a run on a home run. Audubon answered in their half of the 7th with Mattie Nielsen singling, Hannah Thygesen walking and Nielsen scoring on a ground out by Porsch. Thygesen would move to 3rd with just one out but the Wheelers weren’t able to get the hit to score her. A leadoff single in the top 8th lead to a run for the Big Red and turned out to be the game winner. Michelle Brooks singled with 2 outs in the bottom 8th but was stranded at 2nd base.

Jordan Porsch had a team high 2 hits and tied with Kylie Hartl with a pair of RBI each. Hartl had 1 hit as did Addie Hocker, Jordan Muhford, Michelle Brooks and Mattie Nielsen. Neilsen scored 2 of the Wheelers runs.

The loss drops Audubon to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the WIC. They travel to LoMa on Monday.

Glidden Ralston out hit CAM Anita 10-6 and got 14 strikeouts from Vanessa Koehler but they weren’t able to hold on as CAM Anita rallies late to tie the game and then wins in extra innings. The Wildcats had bases loaded with 1 out in the 7th inning and got a couple of ground balls, but weren’t able to score. In the 9th, the Wildcats were able to get a base hit from Summer Toms to pull within 1, driving in a pair of runs but fell short in their comeback effort.

Glidden Ralston scored a pair of runs in the 2nd inning and held the Cougars scoreless until the 5th when they scored a run, then added a run in the 6th. Neither team scored in the 7th or 8th but CAM scored 3 in the 9th. Glidden Ralston answered in the bottom 9th but could only score 2 runs.

Elizabeth Lloyd, Summer toms and Kassidy Wenck each had 2 hits to lead the Wildcats. Lloyd had 2 or their 3 RBI with Brenna Bowman driving in the other run. Tiela Janssen, Lloyd, Toms and Wenck scored. Vanessa Koehler took the loss but struck out 14, allowing 6 hits and 3 earned runs in 9 innings.

The Wildcats are 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the Rolling Valley and will host Whiting on Monday.

Alikxa McGinn had the lone hit for the Wolves as she doubled in their loss to undefeated LoMa. The Wolves were able to get four other baserunners on with Taylor Beckendorf, Lauren Greving and Ella Richards working out walks and Richards also being hit by a pitch. LoMa scored 3-runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings and 2-runs in the 4th and 5th innings.

IKM-Manning falls to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the WIC. They head to Treynor on Monday.
