Coon Rapids Bayard at Ar-We-Va
Coon Rapids Bayard 15
Ar-We-Va 4
Coon Rapids Bayard continued to show their power in the Rolling Valley Conference as they took on Ar-We-Va Tuesday night in a thrilling seven inning game. The Crusaders got things rolling in the top of the first with four runners scored to take the early 4-0 lead. While guys like Preston McAlister went 3-4 on the night with three RBIs for Coon Rapids Bayard and Tanner Oswald who went 2-4 with four RBIs, there were some runners who were able to get home thanks to some defensive slip ups from Ar-We-Va. Cooper Kock was able to put up 10 strikeouts in his five innings of pitching on the hill, but he allowed four runs to be scored off three hits. Ar-We-Va was able to hang with the Crusaders for a big portion of the game, starting with two runners scored in the bottom of the third inning and later another run scored in the bottom of the fifth, cutting down the Coon Rapids Bayard lead to 4-3.
The Crusaders didn’t allow the Rockets to get back for long as they put up eight run in the top of the sixth inning alone to get up by a score of 12-3. Along with his three RBI night, McAlister on the hill had four innings of work where he allowed two earned runs off six hits and recorded seven strikeouts. Oswald also spent some time pitching where, in one inning pitched, had two strikeouts and a run allowed. The Crusades continued to put on the pressure and added three more runs to their total in the top of the seventh, leading 15-3. The Rockets had a big mountain to climb in the bottom of the seventh, but they were able to get a runner home to cut down a massive Crusader lead to 15-4. In the end, Coon Rapids Bayard would walk away with the 15-4 lead. The Crusaders improve to 4-1 while Ar-We-Va falls to 0-3.
Up next for both teams, Coon Rapids Bayard will play host to IKM-Manning on Wednesday, June 1st while Ar-We-Va will travel to Woodbine on the same day.

Underwood at Audubon
5 Innings
Underwood 11

The Audubon Wheelers had a difficult start to their week as they were quickly defeated by Underwood in five innings Tuesday night. The Eagles and Wheelers were fairly matched going into the third inning with neither team recording a run. Underwood got on the board with a run scored in the top of the third, but it was their defense that was the big factor of this game. Gavin Smith in four innings on the hill allowed four earned runs off eight hits and recorded two strikeouts, but none of the Wheelers could conjure up a hit.
