Girls Track Results for Monday, April 9th
Ar-We-Va, Glidden Ralston, and South Central Calhoun at East Sac
Ar-We-Va, Glidden Ralston, and South Central Calhoun were all in action Monday as they traveled to East Sac to fit in one more meet before the state qualifying meets later this week.
East Sac’s Brooke Jergens took home the win in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.03 and the 200 meter dash in a time of 27.11. She also competed with Hannah Pudenz, Meredith Brown, and Carly Fischer in the 4X200 relay where they took home second place with a time of 1:53.22. Brown and Fischer joined Jen Aschinger and Olivia Blum in the 4X100 where they captured second place with a time of 53.51. The sprint medley relay team, composed of Dahni Jergens, Emma Meredith, Mary Bontrager, and Aschinger, were able to give East Sac their first first place finish on the day with a time of 2:03.71.
South Central Calhoun also had a solid day overall, taking home four first place finishes. Brenna McAlister was victorious in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:38.94. Teammate Emma Myers finished closely behind in third place with a time of 2:50.63. Keira Hammen was once again victorious in the shot put event, with a winning throw of 37-09.00. Olivia Toms, Kylee Schleisman, McAlister, and Evelyn Kramer were all part of the winning distance medley relay team where they finished with a time of 4:53.44. Schleisman was also able to capture an individual win, in the long jump with a winning jump of 15-05.50.
Glidden Ralston’s Vanessa Koehler was able to capture four top-three finishes at the meet. She finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.29, 100 hurdles with a time of 16.51, high jump with a best jump of 4-10.00, and third in the 200 meter dash in a time of 27.73. Tiela Janssen was the other Wildcat to capture multiple top three finishes, as she got third place in the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:06.02 and won the 400 hurdles event with a winning time of 1:11.44.
Ar-We-Va rounded out the area teams with three top-three finishes at Sac City. Maggie Ragaller was third overall in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.67. Amber Ragaller was able to finish third in the long jump event with a best jump of 13-09.50. Maggie and Amber Ragaller joined Jamie Hausman and Elizabeth Brunner in the shuttle hurdle relay where they team won the event with a season best 1:11.44.
All four teams will be in action Thursday, May 12th at their respective state qualifying meets. Ar-We-Va and Glidden Ralston will be at Audubon while East Sac and South Central Calhoun will be at Ridge View.

IKM-Manning at Boyer Valley
The IKM-Manning Wolves were dominant Monday as they competed at Boyer Valley, a few days before their state qualifying meet. The Wolves were crowned meet champions as they had 186 points, beating out West Monona who had 174 team points. As a whole, the Wolves came away with five first place finishes.
Morgan Hanson had been running well alongside Emily Albertsen all year long, and she finally captured a win in the 1500 meter run in a time of 13:37.17. Albertsen got second place in that race with a time of 13:37.65. Jessica Christensen was victorious in the high jump event with a winning jump of 4-06.00 while Amber Halbur won the long jump event with a winning jump of 14-06.00. In the relay events, the Wolves’ 4X200 team, composed of Halbur, Madelyn Snyder, Abbagail Neiheisel, and Sofia Fernandez, won the event with a time of 1:56.41. Neiheisel, Halbur, and Snyder were joined by Emmie Ring in the shuttle hurdle event where they won with a time of 1:16.54.
IKM-Manning will be traveling to Audubon for their state qualifying meet on Thursday, May 12th, joining Ar-We-Va, Coon Rapids Bayard, and Glidden Ralston there.

Audubon at Tri Center
The Audubon Wheelers had one final track meet before their state qualifying meet Thursday as they traveled to Tri-Center on Monday. The Wheelers as a team finished in seventh place with a team score of 45. Treynor was the eventual meet winner with a score of 103.
Hannah Thygesen had another strong outing for the Wheelers, capturing an individual top two finish and helping the Wheelers with two top two finishes in their relays. She got second place in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:01.93. Thygesen was also part of the 4X100 relay team, along with Mattie Nielsen, Madison Steckler, and Abigail Zaiger, who got second place with a time of 52.24, and the sprint medley relay with the same teammates who got second place in a time of 1:57.58. Zaiger, Nielsen, and Steckler were joined by Makayla Schmidt in the 4X200 relay where they got third place with a time of 1:52.02. Stefi Beisswenger was the lone first place finish for the Wheelers, winning the 1500 meter run in a time of 5:22.45.
The Wheelers are in action next as they host their own state qualifying meet, hosting Ar-We-Va, Coon Rapids Bayard, Glidden Ralston, and IKM-Manning on Thursday, May 12th.
