Paige Pothoff kicked a cross to Emersyn Walsh for the shot that turned into the game ending goal in overtime as the Tigers win 2-1 at LoMa on Saturday. Walsh shot bounced off the goalie into the path of Bella Baldus, who did a nice job of attacking the shot. She gained control of the rebound, and found the back of the net to end the game. The win is the fourth of the season for the Tigers, all coming in the last 7 matches as Carroll is playing their best soccer of the season with two weeks left in the regular season.
The game was a defensive battle, with neither team scoring in the 1st half. Paige Potthoff got the Tigers on the board in the 2nd half. Carroll was able to get some looks with Emersyn Walsh finishing with five shots on goal. The Carroll defense was strong all match, allowing one goal in the 2nd half and getting 16 saves from Jayden Kirsch.
Carroll moved to 4-8 on the season. They will travel to North Polk on Tuesday.
