Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll, East Sac, and SCC Girls Golf in Action Thursday; Audubon Defeats Underwood in Postponed Meet

Girls Golf Results for Thursday, May 5th

 

Carroll at Carlisle

The Carroll Tigers continued to put up solid numbers individually as they came away with the team win over Carlisle at home Thursday. The Tigers finished 25 strokes better than Carlisle with a team score of 203. Carlisle finished with a score of 228. Erin Winker was the leader for the Tigers, earning medalist honors with a score of 45. She was able to par on holes six and eight. Ashlee Danner continued the consistency for the Tigers, earning runner-up medalist honors with a score of 48 on the day. She was able to record pars on holes three and eight. Delaney Schurke, Makalei Kofron, and Olivia Boes all finished up their days with scores of 55, with Schurke’s and Kofron’s scores counting toward the Tigers’ team score. 

The Tigers return to the course on Monday, May 9th at Winterset for the Raccoon River Conference meet.

Emmetsburg, GTRA, and Manson NW Webster at East Sac

The East Sac Raiders didn’t have to travel far for their meet on Thursday as they hosted Emmetsburg, GTRA, and Manson NW Webster. Emmetsburg came away with the meet as they won by 40 strokes with a team score of 208. East Sac came away with a fourth-place finish with a score of 281. 

Lexie Thomsen finished 12th individually as she finished the day with a score of 68. Kendall Quirk, Tristin Ludwig, and Emily Hansen all finished close to each other in the individual standings. Quirk finished 14th with a score of 70, Ludwig finished 15th overall with a score of 71, and Hansen was in 16th place with a score of 72. The Raiders are back in action on Friday, May 13th when they compete in the Class 2A regional meet at Greene County.

South Central Calhoun at SE Valley

South Central Calhoun was on the road Thursday to go up against Southeast Valley, Newell Fonda, and Sioux Central. The Mustangs of Newell Fonda captured the meet win with a team score of 213. The Titans finished in fourth place with a team score of 282. Sam Stuart and Charissa Nowatzke both finished up their days on the course with scores of 69. Kyra Bruns completed the meet with an individual score of 71 while Mia Babcock rounded out the scoring for the Titans with a score of 73. The Titans season continues as they have their Class 2A regional meet at Greene County on Friday, May 13th.

Underwood at Audubon – Front 9 Holes from WIC Conference Meet used for scores

Thanks to their solid golfing at the Western Iowa Conference meet earlier this week, the Wheelers were able to grab a win over Underwood in a postponed meet on Thursday. The Wheeler’s score from the front nine holes at the conference meet was 207, giving them the edge over Underwood who shot 243. Kali Irlmeier had the best score among all golfers with a score of 45. Sienna Albertsen was next up in the individual standings as she had a front nine score of 52. Allison Elmquist wasn’t too far away from Albertsen’s score as she had a front nine score of 54. Kaci Anthofer rounded out the scoring for the Wheelers with a score of 56. 

The Wheelers are back in action on Monday, May 9th when they travel to LoMa.
