Kuemper Girls Tennis At Hawkeye 10 Conference Meet At Atlantic
Kuemper claimed the Conference Championship on Wednesday in Atlantic on a windy but comfortable day. The Knights claimed a 2nd place finish and a 3rd in singles while taking 3rd and 4th in doubles.
Samantha Tidgren advanced into the championship match in number singles, winning her quarterfinal round 8-0 and her semifinal 8-5. She fell in the finals to Le Yuan Sun of Shenandoah 6-0, 6-1. Jordan Schwabe took 3rd in number 2 singles. Schwabe won her quarterfinal round 8-2 before falling in the semifinal match 8-6. She bounced back, winning her 3rd place match 8-4 over Riley Wiese of Glenwood.
Alyssa Brant and Sophie Rohe took 4th in number 1 doubles. They won their opening round match 8-0, before advancing into the semifinals with a 8-2 win in the quarterfinals. They fell 8-6 in the semifinals and then lost 8-5 to Georgie Bohnet and Allison Narmi of St Albert in the 3rd place match. Ella Schwarte and Keziah Janssen finished 3rd in number 2 doubles. They won their quarterfinal match 8-3 before losing 8-3 in the semifinals. They won their 3rd place match 8-3 over Addee Murray and Brooklyn Damgaard of Lewis Central.
The Knights are scheduled to host Denison Schleswig on Thursday.
