The Kuemper Knights and Audubon Wheelers split sweeps in their singles and doubles matches Thursday. The Knights, coming into this match, were 18-0 in their last two meets against St Edmond and Atlantic while Audubon has been getting progressively better, including taking three matches from Atlantic. Samantha Tidgren, Sophie Rohe, Ella Schwarte, and Keziah Janssen got their days started with 8-0 wins over the Wheelers in singles. Jordan Schwabe and Jill Denny had an entertaining match where Schwabe was able to pull out the 8-4 win.
In doubles, Kuemper tried out some new teams against Audubon’s staples in doubles. Audrey Jensen and Kya Petersen battled against Ella Schwarte and Keziah Janssen where the duo from Audubon won 8-4. Denny teamed up with Gery Anderson in doubles and they swept Morgan Muhlbauer and Sophie Tidgren 8-0. Finally, Ava Slater and Jocelyn Chambers went back and forth with Haley Bush and Brooke Reiling, but ultimately won by a score of 8-4.
Coming up for both teams, Kuemper will host Lewis Central on Monday, May 2nd while Audubon hosts Southwest Valley on Tuesday, May 3rd.
