There will be eight local kids competing this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the 2022 Drake Relays after most of them qualified this last week. Most of the area teams  have been limited in the amount of meets they have participated in due to the weather which hindered their opportunities to qualify. Luckily the weather was good on Thursday as Kenzie Schon of Kuemper, Cooper Kock of Ar-We-Va and the Carroll Girls 4×100 were all able to punch their ticket to Drake.  Schon and the Carroll Girls 4×100 with Libby Perkins, Hannah Jorgensen, Madding Tunning and Shay Sinnard qualified from the meet in Carroll. Cooper Kock advanced with his high jump at the OA-BCIG meet on Thursday.  Keira Hammen of South Central Calhoun took advantage of a nice evening in Carroll on April 11th to qualify as well and Evan Adams was able to fight through the weather this past Tuesday at Madrid. Hammen was the only athlete to have qualified prior to this week.

Evan Adams of Kuemper qualified 19th with a 157-01 and will compete in the Discus on Thursday at 4:00. Kenzie Schon of Kuemper is ranked 12th in the shot put with her best throw of 39-05.50 and Keira Hammen, who is 22nd with her best throw 38-09.50 will compete Thursday at 4:30. Cooper Kock of Ar-We-Va  will be in action on Friday at 10:00 in the high jump and is ranked 19th with his best jump of 6-04. Libby Perkins, Hannah Jorgensen, Madison Tunning and Shay Sinnard of Carroll will run in the 4×100 prelims on Saturday morning at 9:15. They are ranked 68th with a time of 52.37.
