It was a chilly and windy day as Kuemper opened the season at the Carroll Muni with a tight win over Atlantic. The Knights battled through the elements, getting off to a good start. Scores became a little tougher later in the round as the northwest wind picked up, affecting some of the shots off the tee. Kuemper had two golfers shoot in the 30’s with Tyler Auen finished the round with a 37, earning him medalist honors. Maverick Schwabe battled back from a tough 5th hole to shoot 38. Schwabe was outstanding through the first four holes. Carter Putney added a 42 and Dawson Billmeier finished with a 44. Lane Nelson led Atlantic with a 38, earning runner-up medalist honors. Garrett McLaren shot a 39 for the Trojans, giving them two golfers in the 30’s. Their other two scores were 45 and 46.
The Knights head to Webster City on Friday along with Panorama.
