East Sac picked up a strong victory on the road against LoMa in their season opener Tuesday. The Raiders and Panthers were at a standstill for the majority of the first half, until East Sac struck first on the scoreboard. Cooper Herrig got a pass from Wilma Roneus and Herrig scored with 2:45 remaining in the first half. The Raiders were able to hold on to that 1-0 lead going into halftime. Four minutes into the second half, the Raiders found the back of the net again when Roneus got a great pass from Addisen Ehler to score, extending the Raiders lead to 2-0. LoMa was unable to score themselves until there was 15 minutes left in the game, cutting down the East Sac lead to 2-1.
East Sac was able to hold on for the last few minutes of the game and started off the 2022 season 1-0. Aleisha Thayer was a big part of the defensive effort in this game, recording 12 saves. The Raiders will travel to take on Panorama on Thursday, April 7th.
