Charlie Veit of East Sac at 132 finished off a nice run with one of his best performances to take 7th place. Veit says he knew he had to bounce back after not wrestling well in the 3rd round consolations. He scored a quick takedown for a 2-0 lead on Brock Mathers of Central Springs. Mathers was able to escape but Veit scored with a takedown for a 4-1 lead. Veit added three back points to push the lead to 7-1. Shae Parkis of Kuemper knew his opponent would be good with his hands and not letting him get control was going to be a key. Parkis scored first with a takedown, leading 2-0. He says he made a mistake, giving up a reversal but was able to fight his way clear. Veit added an escape to start the 2nd period and grew his advantage to two points with another escape. From there he was able to hold on for a 4-2 win and 5th place finish.

Jayden Soard of South Central Calhoun and Cal Wanninger of Kuemper, both at 220, had a chance to meet for 3rd place with both wrestling in the consolation semifinals. Soard knew he would need to leave it all go in his 5th place match against Conner Reed of Sigourney Keota. Soard gave up a quick takedown but gathered himself and took over the match. He finished in 5th place with pin at 125 pounds. Soard takes 5th place, ending his career 51-3.
