After a slow start in the first couple minutes the Knights took charge of the game with a 20-point 1st quarter on their way to a comfortable lead going into the 2nd quarter. Kuemper was strong all game on defense but their biggest asset on Tuesday was ball movement on the offensive end. They had eight girls score and six girls with at least one assist. They made the extra pass all gam and shot the ball well, hitting 8-15 from three. The Knights had the game under control by half, up 43-16. They were able to get everyone in the game in the 2nd half.

Elsa Tiefenthaler hit an open three to kickoff the scoring a couple minutes into the game and Charlotte Hackfort drove to the basket for a layup and Kuemper led 5-0. After a pair of Monarch free throws, Kuemper ended the 1st quarter on a 15-0 run with Alivia Schenkelberg, Elsa Tiefenthaler, Morgan Masching and Kaylie Simons all scoring. Simons hit a three to end the quarter, giving Kuemper a 20-2 lead. Addy Anthofer drilled a three to start the 2nd quarter as Kuemper had a 18-0 run. Denison Schleswig hit a pair of free throws and were more aggressive on the offensive glass in the 2nd quarter. They scored 14-points as they hit a pair of threes but Kuemper executed well on the offensive end. Alivia Schenkelberg scored inside and Mackenzie Yetmar drained a three and Kuemper was up 30-6. Schenkelberg and Elsa Tiefenthaler both scored and Kaylie Simons hit a three, putting Kuemper up 41-16. A Morgan Masching basket ended the 1st half with Kuemper up 43-16.

Kaylie Simons started the 3rd quarter with a three and Alivia Schenkelberg scored inside. Elsa Tiefenthaler put the game into continuous clock with a three as Kuemper went up 52-17. Kuemper used a 14-1 to start the 3rd to blow the game open and were able to get everyone in the game the rest of the game.

Elsa Tiefenthaler led the Knights with 18-points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Alivia Schenkelberg had 11-points and 5 rebounds, Kaylie Simons added 11-points and 2 steals and Morgan Masching finished with 10-points and 2 steals. Charlotte Hackfort went for 7-points and 5 rebounds and Addy Anthofer added 6-points and 7 rebounds.

Kuemper improved to 7-3 and will head to Glenwood on KKRL on Friday.

Carroll’s defense kept them in the game early but the offense struggled in the 1st half, digging a hole the Tigers couldn’t recover from. Carroll held Gilbert to 12-points in the 1st quarter and 26-points in the 1st half but trailed 26-11 after scoring 6-points in the 1st quarter and 5-points in the 2nd quarter. Carroll played even in the 2nd half, outscoring Gilbert 28-24. They hadn’t played a road game since December 19th.

Chloe Kock paced Carroll with 10-points while grabbing 7 rebounds and blocking 4 shots. Ali Kock had 7-points with a team high 9 rebounds. Bella Lu grabbed 7 rebounds, Analia Ayala had 8-points and Aubrie Schmitt- Hubbart adding 7-points.

The Tigers fell to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the Raccoon River Conference. They head to Carlisle on KCIM on Friday.

Exira-EHK won their 10th straight with a strong defensive performance and a solid offensive game. They did most of their offensive damage inside with Jaelynn Petersen and Harlow Miller having big games. Ar-We-Va struggled offensively, scoring 5-points in the 1st and 2nd quarters but only scoring 4-points in the 2nd half. The Spartans built a 22-5 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and were up 44-10 at half.

Jaelynn Petersen led the Spartans with 22-points while Taryn Petersen had 19-pionts and Harlow Miller scoring 12-points.

Mara Obrecht had a team high 6-points and Noelia Gonzalez added 3-points for the Rockets. Mara Obrecht had a team high 3 rebounds.

Exira-EHK improved to 10-1 overall and will host Boyer Valley on Friday. Ar-We-Va falls to 0-12 and will travel to Glidden Ralston on Friday.

Glidden Ralston suffered their fourth straight, having the game slip away in the 2nd half but nearly pulling it out in the 4th quarter. The Wildcats led most of the 1st half, up 12-11 after the 1st quarter and 20-16 at half. They fell down in the 3rd as the offense struggled, scoring 6-points. They still had a chance going into the 4th, down 28-26 but Woodbine outscored them 13-12 in the final stanza.

Jenna Subbert continues her hot scoring stretch with a team high 16-points with Olivia Squibb adding 9-points and Chloe Peters had 6-points.

The Wildcats fall to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the Rolling Valley. They host West Central Valley on Thursday.

IKM-Manning fought back after a slow start to earn a win on the road, improving to 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the Western Iowa Conference. The Wolves trailed 15-10 after the 1st quarter and were down 26-25 at half in a game that neither team could take charge of in the 1st half. Tri Center shot the ball well, hitting 5 of 8 from three and shooting 52.8% from the field. The Wolves defense made up for it by creating 18 turnovers, allowing them to get some easy buckets. They edged ahead in the 3rd quarter and took a 38-36 lead into the 4th quarter. The defense kept making enough plays while the offense got strong nights from Anna Stangl and Keagan Eischeid with Addisyn Bandow having her best game of the season. They held on to win the game by four.

Anna Stangl led the way with 20-points and 5 rebounds. Addisyn Bandow added 7-points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Keagan Eischeid continue to play well inside with 14-points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks and Oriah Meiners added 7-points and 2 steals.

The Wolves sit 3rd in the WIC and will host Riverside on Friday.

Paton Churdan continues to play better basketball, nearly coming away with a tough road win on Tuesday. The Rockets offense kept pace with the Bulldog for three quarters but a tough 4th quarter helped the Bulldogs edge away for a 9-point win. The Rockets and Bulldogs were tied at 10 after the 1st quarter and were down 19-17 at half. They hung right in their in the 3rd with Edynn Smith really shooting the ball well. She led them with 17-points as they trailed 31-27 heading into the 4th quarter. The Bulldogs stayed consistent in their offensive attack while the Rockets struggled, scoring 5-points to fall 41-32.

Edynn Smith, a freshman led the Rockets with 17-points with Alivya Smith scoring 7-points and Kaliyah Minnihan added 5-points.

Paton Churdan falls to 2-9 overall and 1-7 in the Rolling Valley. They host head to Ogden on Thursday.

The game was closer than the final score indicated as South Central Calhoun trailed by seven heading to the 4th quarter but fell 53-41. Their offense struggled to score in the 4th quarter, scoring 3-points. The defense was strong in the 4th quarter, holding Humboldt to 8-points. The Titans had scored in double figures in all three of the first-three quarters, trailing 13-10 after the 1st quarter and 28-24 at half. The Wildcats took a 45-38 lead into the final stanza.

South Central Calhoun was balanced on offense with Sadie Wheelock having a team high 15-points and 6 rebounds with Blair Schleisman having 12-points and 4 rebounds and Macie Dorman had 12-points and 6 rebounds. Ailey Korleski, Kenley Wuebker and Abbie Kistenmacher all had 4 rebounds.

The Titans fell to 4-9 overall and will host Alta-Aurelia on Friday.
