Ar-We-Va battled hard all game but struggled to hit open shots early. They did a nice job attacking the lane against the Tigers defense but weren’t able to finish until the 3rd quarter. Woodbine turned Ar-We-Va miscues into baskets on the other end as Adalynn Coenen and Taylor Hoefer both shot the ball well in the 1st half. Woodbine built a 17-3 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and led 38-5 at half. The Rockets came out of the locker room with a different intensity in the 3rd quarter. They quickly recovered after Woodbine hit a three in the opening minute to start the continuous clock. Ar-We-Va went on a 8-0 run with Aubrie McCollough scoring inside on an assist from Hallie McCollough. Mara Obrecht got hot from three, hitting two in a row and Ar-We-Va pulled within 43-13 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Gabbie Hundling added a three-point play in the 4th quarter but Woodbine was able to regain control of the game and went on to win 57-16.
Mara Obrecht led the Rockets for a second straight game, scoring 11-points with three made 3’s. Obrecht added 4 rebounds, tying Gabbie Hundling and Hallie McCollough, who added 4 rebounds. Vivian Blackford led them in rebounds with 6 rebounds. Gabbie Hundling added a team high 2 steals.
Ar-We-Va fell to 0-16 overall and will head to IKM-Manning on KKRL on Monday.

East Sac traveled to Alta-Aurelia for Twin Lakes Conference basketball action on Friday. The Raiders were coming off a home loss to MVAOCOU on Thursday. East Sac had a great defensive start to the game, holding the Warriors to a 2-2 tie, and closed the quarter on a 12-0 run. Alta was able to string some buckets together to make it somewhat close going into the break, but East Sac would lead 23-16. The Raiders once again locked down defensively and held the Warriors scoreless in the 3rd to take a 31-16 lead. East Sac would close out the game strong to pick up a 39-23 win heading into the weekend break. Sarah Bontrager led the Raiders with 10 points while Miranda Gerdes added 11 rebounds. The Raiders get a break until they host Manson NW Webster on Tuesday next week.

Paton-Churdan hosted CAM for Rolling Valley Conference basketball on Friday evening. The Rockets came in at 2-12 on the season while the Cougars sat at 8-7. P-C struggled on defense in the first as it was 2-2 before CAM went up 13-2 and closed the quarter with a 22-8 lead. Paton-Churdan held strong throughout the next quarter as the Rockets would add 9, but trailed at the halftime break. CAM would hold its lead consistently throughout the 2nd half, but P-C played solid defense. The Cougars would close out a 57-32 win on the road. The Rockets were led by Edynn and Alivya Smith, both with 9 points.
