Denison Schleswig At Carroll

Carroll led 5-1 in the going into the 5th inning but Denison Schleswig rallied to tie the game in the 6th, then used a pair of Carroll errors in the 8th to win 8-5. Tallon Crandall gave the Tigers a good start on the hill and Chase Schable was strong in relief. The Tigers, who have been strong defensively all season, had a tough night with six errors, allowing, 2 unearned runs. Their bats did a nice job all night, getting production from every part of the lineup. Carroll left nine runners on base and Denison Schleswig left eleven runners on base.

Carroll scored first and didn’t trail until the 8th inning. Chase Schable worked hard for a walk in the 3rd inning, stole 2nd base and scored on a base hit by Stone Sibenaller. The Monarchs benefited for a Tiger error to score the tying run in the top of the 4th. The defense got them out of trouble as Tallon Crandall induced a double play to end the inning with the bases loaded and 1-out. Carroll went back on the offense in the bottom 4th. Landon Petersen walked, moved to 2nd on a balk. He made a heads up play, tagging on a fly to center and moved to 3rd with 2-outs. Carson Tedrow singled to score Petersen. He stole 2nd base before Tallon Crandall walked. Chase Schable drove in Tedrow with a single and Jackson Gross drove them both in with a double and Carroll led 5-1. The Monarchs responded again, collecting two hits with Andy Pederson tripled to score a run and then scored on a groundout by Gavin Bral. The Tigers got out of trouble with Tallon Crandall getting a big strikeout. Braxton Lu singled for Carroll in the 5th but didn’t score and Denison Schelswig was able to tie the game at 5 with an unearned run in the top 6th. Chase Schable relieved Tallon Crandall on the hill and got the Tigers out of trouble, stranding three Monarchs on base. Trey Tassell and Braxton Lu singled for Carroll in the 7th but Carroll wasn’t able to get another hit and the game went into 8 innings. A base hit, followed by another base hit for Denison Schleswig opened the 8th. A doubled drove in a run, then a pair of Carroll errors helped them score two insurance runs. Schable got out of trouble with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Jackson Gross struck out for Carroll but reached 1st when the ball got to the backstop. Denison Schleswig turned a 6U-6-3 double play to end the game.

Chase Schable had a pair of hits with an RBI and scored twice, Braxton Lu added 2 hits and Stone Sibenaller had 2 hits with an RBI. Jackson Gross hit a double, driving in 2 runs, finishing with 2 hits. Carson Tedrow had a base hit, drove in a run and scored once.

Carroll falls to  3-5 overall and will travel to Sioux City East on Monday.

Kuemper At St Albert

Landon Pottebaum was dominant on the hill, helping Kuemper earn a nice road win at St Albert. He allowed just 3 hits and no runs as the Knights won 5-0. He kept Kuemper in the game until the bats heated up with a run in the 4th, then four more runs in the 5th. St Albert didn’t have a baserunner in the last three innings.

Kuemper had chances to take control early with runners on 1st and 2nd in the 1st inning with 1-out, then having the bases loaded in the 2nd inning with 1-out and the top of the order up. They didn’t score but Landon Pottebaum and the defense kept them in control of the game. St Albert had a single in the 1st and another in the 2nd inning but didn’t get a runner to 2nd base until a double in the 4th. The Falcons never got a runner to 3rd base. Thomas Pottebaum walked in the 4th, scoring on a single by Tristan Janson. Aaron McDermott singled to start the  5th, Charles Mayhall was hit-by-pitch and McDermott scored on an error with Mayhall scoring on a double by Landon Pottebaum. Noah Reiman bunted, scoring Pottebaum, then scored on a wild pitch to put the Knights up 5-0. Kuemper had two more over the final two innings but didn’t score. Landon Pottebaum had only three strikeouts but ended the game with a strikeout after sitting down twelve straight Falcons batters.

Landon Pottebaum went all 7 innings, allowing 3 hits while striking out 3. He added a double and an RBI while scoring a run at the plate. Tristan Janson drove in a run, Aaron McDermott scored a run and Charles Mayahll scored  a run, Noah Reiman drove in a run and scored a run and Thomas Pottebaum scored a run. Ryan Sundrup added a pair of hits.

The Knights move to 6-4 overall and will head to the CYO at St Mary’s, Remsen on Saturday.

A three run 3rd inning and a two run 5th inning helped IKM-Manning snap a four game losing streak, earning a 5-2 win at home. The Wolves finished with seven hits, three of them were doubles. Karsyn Lorenzen and Brock Kusel combined on the hill to allow 5 hits and 2 earned runs with 11 strikeouts. They trailed early with AHSTW scoring a run in the 1st inning, but they shut the door until the Vikings added a run in the 5th. A two run bottom half pushed the Wolves lead back to 5-2 after the Vikings had pulled within 3-2.

Kasche Huehn had 3 hits and stole 4 bases while scoring a run, Karsyn Lorenzen had a double, driving in a pair of runs and scored. Lorenzen went 4 1/3 innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 earned runs with 7 strikeouts. Brock Kusel doubled and scored while pitching 2 2/3 innings with 3 hits and 4 strikeouts. Jack Sanford had a base hit and drove in a run and Jace Starman doubled, driving in a run. Luke Doyle added a pair of runs scored.

The Wolves are 3-5 overall and will head to Tri Center on Friday.

Mason Steckler and Carson Wessel singled to drive a run in the 1st inning and Jack Stanerson and Brody Schultes both scored as the Wheelers took a 2-0 lead to start the game. They struggled offensively the rest of the game, finishing with five hits as Treynor took control with 4-runs in the bottom 1st and 7-runs in the 2nd. The Cardinals had 3-runs in both the 3rd and 4th, ending the game in the 4th inning.

Audubon opened the game with three straight singles with Carson Wessel singling home Jack Stanerson. Mason Steckler added a single with 1-out, scoring Brody Schultes.

Carson Wessel and Mason Steckler both had a base hit and an RBI with Brody Schultes and Jack Stanerson getting a base hit and scoring a run. Gabe Jensen added their other hit.

Audubon falls to 1-7 and will host LoMa on Friday.
