East Sac softball went to OABCIG on Thursday for a varsity matchup. East Sac’s offense started things off as both Addison Ehler and Chloe Bieret singled and Makenna Steiger and Denae Thayer hit them around with single and double. Steiger scored off of the double from Thayer. OABCIG would go 3 and out with a fly out, a strikeout and a throw out after a single. The Raiders would have two outs early than Addison Ehler would get on by an error and Chloe Bieret by a single. The inning would end with a strikeout right after. OABCIG would go 3 out again back to back to back. In the 3rd Lauryn Lally would score off of a single where she would be moved around and eventually a passed ball would take her home. East Sac would fail to gain more momentum as they would get 3 outs after her. OABCIG would find their success in the 3rd as they would get 1 run off of 4 hits. East Sac would go 3 up and 3 down in the 4th and 5th. OABCIG would go scoreless in the 4th and get their 2 leadoff hitters around in the 5th to make it 4-3 going into the 6th. OABCIG would go 3 up and 3 down the next two innings as East Sac would score one more to win it 5-3 and stay undefeated on the year.

IKM-Manning hosted AHSTW on Thursday in a WIC matchup. AHSTW came into tonight 1-3 with IKMM 2-3. AHSTW started the game off strong with a big 2 run 1st inning and a defensive stand to make it 2-0 after 1. IKMM would get on the board in the 2nd with a run on the board and pulling within 1. AHSTW would pull ahead once again in the top of the 3rd with 1 more run on the board to make it 3-2. IKMM found another run in the bottom of the 4th as they trailed 3-2. AHSTW in the top of the 5th would make it 4-2 with a run on the board. IKMM’s offense would explode in the 5th with a huge 4 run inning and a great defensive stand in the last two to win this one 6-4.

Glidden-Ralston had a short travel over to Jefferson to take on Greene County on Thursday. The Wildcats struggled at the plate tonight with only 2 hits and 1 run. Greene County had a good offensive night as in the 1st they picked up 2 runs to open the game. They would than get 1 more in the 2nd to go up 3-0. Glidden-Ralston would pick up their first run as Kate Bergmeier would score off of an RBI from Jenna Subbert. Greene County would put 3 in the 3rd and 5 in the 4th to pick up the 11-1 win at home.

Exira-EHK-Audubon went to Treynor tonight in a matchup of two good teams. EEHKA had 4 batters come up in the 1st with two strikeouts, a walk, and a final out as they go scoreless after 1. Treynor would have a groundout than score the next two as they get a double and a walk to get on. They would be brought around by a triple. EEHKA would go 3 up and 3 down in the 2nd with two strikeouts. Treynor would score 2 more in the 3rd and hold EEHKA scoreless to win it 4-0.

Carroll hosted Denison-Schleswig on Thursday in an out of conference matchup. Both teams came into this matchup winless with each wanting to grab their first win. Denison had a greta first inning as Ann Wessell got on with a single. Gaby Cardenas got on than with a double. They would both score off of a 2 RBI double by Taylor Walker. Mayah Slater would get on by a fielders choice and score off of an RBI double from Norah Huebert. Heubert would try and take off for 3rd and home as she was tagged out at home for the 3rd out. Denison would lead 3-0 after the top of the 1st. Carroll would have singles from Brylee Mrla and Emma Danner as Mrla would steal 2nd and score and Danner would be credited with the RBI as Carroll would trail 3-1 after the 1st. Denison would add one more in the 2nd off of an RBI single. Carrolls offense would stall for the rest of the night as they had Audrey Heugerich get one walk in the 5th as their final piece of offense. Denison would score 4 in the 4th and 1 in the 5th to win it 9-1 and pick up their first win of the year. Carroll falls to 0-8 with a week off before they face Winterset.

Kuemper went to St. Albert on Thursday. Kuemper opened the game with Chloe Gehling scoring off of a wild pitch as she stole 2nd and 3rd. Kuemper’s offense would stall again till the 5th. St. Albert would stall until the 4th where they would get a walk and 3 singles with one scoring to make it 1-1 in the 4th. Kuemper would have Kaylie Wolterman and Lauren Gehling score off of singles as they now regain a 3-1 lead. Kuemper would have Lauren Gehling and Morgan Masching score in the top of the 7th to make it 5-1. In the bottom of the 7th St. Albert would get one but Kuemper would hang on to win 5-2 on the road.
