Honorable Mention
Emma Stream- Jr- Greene County
The Junior was really strong behind the plate, teaming up with Emma Hoyle to give the Rams a good battery. She finished with 4 errors in 253 chances. Her 18 RBI ranked 2nd on the team as did her 7 doubles.
Kylee Hartl- Jr- Audubon
Hartl was third on the Wheelers in RBI while leading the team with 6 doubles. She was 2nd on the team in runs scored with 22, tied for the team lead with 2 home runs and had a .455 slugging percentage.
Jordan Porsch- So- Audubon
Porsch was second on the team with a .298 batting average and 20 RBI. Her 23 runs scored was a team high, she tied for second on the team with 5 doubles. She led the team in sacrifices.
Victoria Asmus- Sr- Audubon
The senior put together her best season of her career, leading the Wheelers with a .368 batting average, 21 RBI and an on base percentage of .442. Her 5 doubles were tied for second on the team.
Ashlynn Tigges- Fr- Glidden Ralston
Tigges was very good all season for the Wildcats, leading them with a .484 batting average, tied for 2nd on the team with 13 RBI and was tied for 3rd in runs scored with 14.
Kassidy Wenck- 8th Grade- Glidden Ralston
The 8th grader broke onto the scene this season and looks like a force in the future. She led the Wildcats with 14 RBI while batting .359. She finished with a .406 slugging percentage. Wenck went 10-10 in stolen bases.
Elizabeth Lloyd- So – Glidden Ralston
Lloyd was outstanding for the Wildcats this summer, batting .407 with 13 RBI and 4 doubles, all second best on the team. She had the team’s only triple and led the team with a .514 on base percentage and a .508 slugging percentage.
Bridget Shirbroun- Sr- Coon Rapids Bayard
The senior put together her best season, batting .310 while scoring 18 runs. She had 2 of the team’s 8 sacrifices and got on base almost 44% (.437) percent of the time. Shirbroun was perfect in stolen bases, helping the Crusaders steal 69 bases as a team.
Miranda McClellan-Sr- Coon Rapids Bayard
The senior wrapped up her Crusader career with a terrific senior sports campaign. She was one of the most consistent Crusaders this summer, finishing with a .319 batting average, had 15 RBI and scored 21 times. Her 15 stolen bases were a team high.
Malia Clayburg- 8th Grade- Coon Rapids Bayard
Clayburg was very impressive behind the plate as an 8th grader and her future looks very promising. She handled the bat very well as well, hitting .338 with 17 RBI, ranking 2nd on the team. She added a pair of triples and a home run, scoring 15 runs. She stole 8 bases and her slugging percentage was .471.
Kora Obrecht- Jr-Ar-We-Va
The junior made an early return from knee surgery and put together another strong season. She led the team with 19 runs scored and was only one of three Rockets to score in double figures. Her on base percentage was .412.
Jamie Hausman- Jr – Ar-We-Va
Hausman led the Rockets with a .368 batting average and was third on the team with 15 runs scored. Her on base percentage was .528 which was a team high. Hausman is a solid center fielder, covering a lot of ground with her speed.
Maggie Ragaller- Jr- Ar-We-Va
Ragaller’s competitiveness shines every night as she plays as hard as anyone. She led the Rockets with 14 RBI and was second on the team with 17 runs scored. Maggie had a triple and the team’s only home run. She led the Rockets with 10 stolen bases.
Melinda Schaefer- So- Kuemper
Schaefer turned into one of the top players for the Knights as the season went on, becoming a force at the plate, in the field and on the bases. She finished the season batting .328 with 20 RBI and 42 runs scored. She was perfect in her stolen base attempts and had a lot of range at 2nd base, making plays most 2nd baseman don’t.
Maci- Gustavason- Jr- East Sac
The Junior was strong at the plate, batting .392 with 13 RBI. She led the Raiders with 2 home runs. Gustavson was tough in the circle, finishing with a 3.48 ERA and 84 strikeouts. She threw 94 ⅔ innings, starting 16 games.
Mary Bontrager- Jr- East Sac
Bontrager continued her strong career for the Raiders with a .421 batting average, tying for the team lead with 20 runs scored. She added a .468 on base percentage and a .456 fielding percentage. Bontrager stole 9 bases in 9 attempts. She made just 1 error this season.
Brielle Hinners- Sr- Carroll
Hinners helped Carroll have a season that was better than their record indicated. She was strong in left field, finishing the season with 1 error. She continued a strong career at the plate with a .352 batting average, scoring 19 runs. She tied for the team lead with 2 triples and drove in 12-runs. Hinners added 15 stolen bases.
Tiela Janssen- So- Glidden Ralston
Janssen was a force at the top part of the order for the Wildcats, batting .377 with 10 RBI and 14 runs scored. Her on base percentage was .493 while her 13 walks led the team. Janssen finished with a .906 fielding percentage.

Catcher
Parker Adams- So- Carroll
The sophomore had a great first season starting for the Tigers, finishing with a .444 batting average to lead the team. She added a pair of home runs, including a home run against ADM in the Regional Final. Adams had 7 doubles and 19 RBI. She threw out 11 runners trying to steal. Her 40 hits also led the team.
DP
Kaylie Diercksen- So- Kuemper
Diercksen fit perfectly into the DP role for the Knights this season and started at 3rd base in the postseason, playing well. Her bat was one of the most consistent in their lineup and she had several big hits late in games. She finished with a .330 batting average, along with 9 doubles and 32 RBI while scoring 16 runs.
Outfield
Anna Hart- 8th Grade- Coon Rapids Bayard
Hart had a tremendous year as an 8th grader, batting .325 with 6 doubles, a triple and 2 home runs. She drove in a team leading 21 RBI and scored 20 runs which was 4th on the team. Her slugging percentage was .500, ranking second on the team. Hart was a perfect 6 of 6 in stolen bases.
Outfield
Averi Burke- So- Carroll
Burke helped give the Tigers a very good outfield, using her speed to patrol both center field and right field. She was very good at making tough catches down the first base line. Burke hit .316 this season with a pair of triples. Her 25 runs scored ranked second on the team and she was a perfect 15 for 15 in stolen bases.

Hailey Ostrander- Sr- Kuemper
Hailey had a terrific senior campaign for the Knights, helping them finish 2nd in the Hawkeye 10. She batted through injuries most of the season, and still tied for third on the team with 2 home runs. Ostrander added 18 RBI and scored 37 runs, tied for second on the team. Her 13 stolen bases ranked second on the team.
3rd Base
Makalei Kofron-Jr- Carroll
Kofron was solid at 3rd base, covering the bunt well, with a strong arm to make the tough throws. She helped the Tigers make a great run in the postseason, qualifying for the Regional Final. She finished with a .368 batting average, third on the team amongst regulars at the end of the season. She added 9 doubles, helping her drive in 16 runs while scoring 14 more.
Shortstop
Vanessa Ayala- Sr- Carroll
Ayala was fantastic all season on defense and at the plate for the Tigers, taking over one of the leadership roles. Her consistency was one of the strengths for the Tigers in the toughest conference in the State. Vanessa finished with a .325 average and 3 home runs, tied for second on the team. She drove in 19 RBI and scored 24 runs, ranking third on the team.
2nd Base
Olivia Toms- So- South Central Calhoun
Toms was so good at shortstop this season that we named her 2nd team at 2nd base because of her outstanding play. Her quickness allowed her to make plays others aren’t able to. She batted .422, ranking 3rd on the team, with a triple and 13 RBI. She scored 12 times while finishing second on the team in stolen bases.

Breeley Clayburg- So- Coon Rapids Bayard
Clayburg continued her outstanding career as a Crusader, batting .400, leading the team, along with tying for the team lead with 2 home runs. Breeley drove in 17 RBI, tied for second best on the team, and scored a team high 26 runs. Her glove at 1st base allows her fellow infielders to feel very comfortable throwing the ball as she doesn’t miss many plays on the bag.
Pitcher
Alexis Obermeier- So- Audubon
Obermeier teamed with Kali Irlmeier to give the Wheelers a very strong 1-2 punch in the circle this season. She struck out 92 batters in only 78 ⅔ innings in 10 starts this season. Her ERA at 3.03 was one of the lowest in the area. Her biggest strength may have been throwing strikes, as she walked only 13 batters this season. She added a .263 batting average in limited at bats this season.

Emma Hart- Sr- Coon Rapids Bayard
The senior was a huge part of the Crusaders success this season, picking up 11 wins in the circle, with 127 strikeouts in 122 ⅓ innings pitched. She gave the Crusaders a chance to win most nights, even against the top competition on their schedule. She batted .356 with 5 doubles and 2 triples, helping her finish with 14 RBI in the leadoff spot. She scored 25 runs, second on the team and was perfect in stolen bases.

DP
Keira Hammen- Jr- South Central Calhoun
Hammen was one of the best pure hitters in the area, while being a great power hitter. She led the area with 9 home runs, getting hot midway through the season, having stretches of home runs in back to back games. Hammen finished with a team high 31 RBI and was only one of two girls on the team with double digit RBI. Her slugging percentage was 1.250 and her on base percentage was .635.
Outfield
Emersyn Mack- Jr- East Sac
Mack put together a terrific season for the Raiders, batting .500 with a .625 slugging percentage and a .529 on base percentage. She finished the season with 6 doubles, second on the team and was third on the team in RBI. Her 20 runs scored tied for second on the team. Mack also tied for the team lead with 9 stolen bases.
Outfield
Vanessa Koehler- Jr- Glidden Raslton
Koehler didn’t play outfield this season, but was such a tremendous player for the Wildcats she earned a 1st team spot. She hit .400 while leading the Wildcats with 3 home runs and was second on the team in RBI with 13. She added a team high 7 doubles and was 17 of 17 in stolen bases. Koehler took a huge jump in the circle in 2022, striking out 154 batters in 121 ⅔ innings, helping her finish with 9 wins and a 2.88 ERA.
Outfield
Emma Anderson- Sr- South Central Calhoun
One of the elite softball players and athletes in the area, Anderson moved to the catcher’s role this season and made the transition seamless. She provided a great leader for a young pitching staff, helping the Titans become a scary team by the end of the season. She batted .595 with a slugging percentage of .905 and her on base percentage was .648. Anderson scored 21 runs and hit a home run while leading the team with 10 doubles.
3rd Base
Kenadee Loew- Sr- Kuemper
Loew put together another terrific season for the Knights, playing a tough 3rd base. She is strong on balls hit down the line or on bunt attempts and helps keep runners close to the bag by always being ready for the throw down to 3rd from Schwabe. She batted .339 this season, with 1 home run and 29 RBI, fourth on the team. Loew scored 19 runs to go with 11 doubles which was a team high.
Shortstop
Meredith Brown- Sr- East Sac
Brown wrapped up a tremendous career with East Sac in all sports with a big summer season. She batted .541 this season, with 9 doubles, 2 triples and a home run. Those were team highs as was her 20 RBI and 33 hits. He was third on the team in runs scored with 17. Brown was very good at shortstop, using her track speed to cover a lot of the field and finishing with a .929 fielding percentage.
2nd Base
Ava Gross- Jr- Carroll
The junior had been really good in her first couple of years, then took her game to another level as a junior, becoming one of the elite players in the area. She has great range at 2nd base, able to make plays behind the 2nd base bag or down the 1st base line. As good as she is defensively, she was just as productive on offense, batting .356 with 8 doubles, 2 triples and a team high 4 home runs. Gross drove in 23 runs in the toughest league in the State. She scored a team high 26 runs and was 14 of 14 in stolen bases. Her slugging percentage was .594.
1st Base
Kenzie Schon- Sr- Kuemper
Schon has been one of the best softball players in the area her entire career and closed out a record setting career with a great senior campaign. She finished with a .368 batting average, drove in 34 runs, second on the team with 9 doubles and 3 home runs. She picked up 42 hits, third on the team while scoring 37 times, tied for 2nd on the team. She was perfect in stolen base attempts, going 7 of 7. Schon isn’t just a great offensive player, she is terrific at 1st base.
Pitcher
Kali Irlmeier- Jr- Audubon
Irlmeier was one of the elite pitchers in the area this season, finishing 8-4 with a 1.74 ERA. She struck out 104 batters in just 80 ⅓ innings, teaming with Alexis Obmeier to give the Wheelers a chance to beat every team on their schedule. Irlmeier walked just 26 batters in 17 games pitched. When she wasn’t pitching, she was strong defensively at 1st base. Irlmeier drove in 15 runs for the Wheelers with 5 doubles.

Emma Hoyle- Jr- Greene County
Emma Hoyle was outstanding in the circle for Greene County this summer, finishing with 13 wins and a 2.42 ERA. Hoyle had 230 strikeouts in 165 innings. Hoyle was one of the best offensive players for the Rams, with a .295 batting average and a team high 25 RBI. She doubled 8 times and had a team high 2 home runs. Her slugging percentage was .474.
Pitcher
Kamryn Venner- Sr- Kuemper
Venner turned into one of the elite pitchers in the area and the Hawkeye 10 Conference. She finished 16-7 for the Knights with 17 starts in the circle and 29 appearances. Her ERA was 2.79 in 150 ⅓ innings, finishing with 158 strikeouts and just 47 walks. She also played shortstop and was one of the top defensive players in the area. Venner hit .282 with 9 doubles and 2 home runs. She added 13 RBI and scored 18 runs.
Catcher and Player of the Year
Jordan Schwabe- Sr- Kuemper
Schwabe started the season on fire and never really slowed down. She had the biggest impact of any player on her team’s games this season, dominating behind the plate along with having a great year at the plate. Schwabe threw out 7 runners trying to steal base this season and picked off a bunch more. Her ability to throw in front or behind runners kept teams from running against the Knights. She called pitches for their staff this season, working well with Kamryn Venner and Chloe Ventiecher. Schwabe wasn’t just a great defensive threat though. She hit the cover off the ball this season, finishing with a .403 batting average with 10 doubles, 4 triples and 4 home runs. She led the area with 40 RBI and scored 31 times, when most catchers are being run for. Her slugging percentage was .655 and her on base percentage finished at .438.
Coach of the Year
Erin Bolhmann- Kuemper
Bohlmann helped the Knights finish with the best record in our area, going 22-16 overall and 16-4 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. The Knights finished 2nd in the Hawkeye 10, She did a nice job juggling her lineup this season, dealing with injuries late in the season that impacted the team in the postseason. Bohlmann’s coaching job helped her team finish with a .310 batting average and a 3.67 ERA. They finished with 61 doubles, 5 triples and 12 home runs. Kuemper held opponents to a .239 batting average and outscored them 241 to 210. Kuemper has won 45 games over the past 2 seasons, finishing 30-10 in the Hawkeye 10 conference.
