Kuemper vs St Albert at Creighton University

St. Albert 5

Kuemper 2

The Kuemper Knights opened up their 2022 season with a long road trip to Creighton University to take on St. Albert. The Knights had a solid first half against the Saintes as they trailed by a goal going into halftime. Jordyn Schulte and Karly Baumhover were the two who scored for the Knights to keep them in the contest. Knights’ Head Coach Russel Wintermote says his players did an awesome job at adjusting their original defensive scheme and applied more pressure offensively in the last 20 minutes of the first half.

The Knights continued that pressure into the second half and kept the game close for awhile. The Saintes were able to break away from that pressure to tack on two more goals to their total. St. Albert’s goals in the second half allowed them to chip away at the clock and eventually escape with the win with a final score of 5-2. Coach Wintermote also credits coach Milligan and Vaughn for helping their players understand the changes they made throughout the match. Ashlyn Badding was able to record eight saves while Tristan Foley and Karly Baumhover both had assists on the night. Kenya Prescott and Catherine Mayhall both attacked the net well with three shots on goals each.
