The Carroll Tigers had a variety of back and forth matches against Hampton-Dumont at Winterset during their team duals meet, but the Tigers were unable to advance to take on Winterset. As a team, the Tigers went 6-6 in matches wrestled.
The Tigers found plenty of ways to put away their opponents, with three decision victories, two fall victories, and one major decision. Cooper Ludwig picked up a fall victory over Sean Heilskov at 1:12 and Jireh Gallegos put away Karter Jenssen in quick fashion via fall at 38 seconds. Cael Nelson, Levi Dirkx, and Remy Richardson all won their matches via decision, with Richardson having to battle hard to win his match over Isaac Vosburg. Carter Drake was the final Tiger to win his match as he took it to Taylor Mahler, winning via major decision. Seven Carroll Tigers focus their attention to this Saturday, February 12th when they compete at their district meet at Glenwood. The Carroll wrestlers competing Saturday include: Dreylen Schweitzer, Cael Nelson, Carter Drake, Jireh Gallegos, Sterling Rodman, and Colton Weiland.

The South Central Calhoun Titans picked up some strong fall victories against Ogden at Missouri Valley at Tuesday’s team dual meet but fell short of moving on to take on the Big Reds. The Titans went 6-8 against the Bulldogs, all their matches were won via fall.
Chance Roeder and Jayden Soard scored two quick fall victories in their matches. Roeder defeated Drew Hammer at the 10 second mark and Soard picked up his victory against Thomas Doughty at 23 seconds. Brock Nattress, Kevin King, and Naylan Gulbranson all won their matches via fall in less than two minutes. Nattress grabbed his victory over Caleb Sesker at the 1:45 mark, King defeated Jon Seegar at the 1:54, and Gulbranson picked up his fall win over Jackson Swigert at the 1:46 mark. Finally, Blake McAlister had a back-and-forth battle with Tyler Kathman, but he was able to put Kathman away at the 4:37 mark via fall. Titans Head Coach Lance Schultz says they were ahead by two matches and ended up getting pinned late, but he was happy with the dual season his team had. The Titans will end the dual season with a share of the Twin Lakes Dual Championship with an 8-1 record. They also finished with an overall record of 26-3. They now focus their attention to the district wrestling meet on Saturday, February 12th where Brock Nattress, Zachary Trott, Kevin King, Black McAlister, and Jayden Soard compete for a chance to go to the state wrestling tournament.
