Coon Rapids Bayard locked down early in the game, then again in the 2nd half as they pulled away for the eleventh time in their last twelve games. The Wildcats battled back nicely after falling behind 13-2, pulling within six in the 2nd quarter. Coon Rapids Bayard controlled the game in the paint with Lance Clayburg and Raiden Doty controlling the boards and Easton Hays and Gabe Obert getting to the rim to score. Ethan Olberding, Cale Klocke and Emmett Snyder tried to keep the Wildcats in the game from deep, combining for six threes. A Crusader 5-0 run late in the 2nd quarter helped propel the Crusaders in the 2nd half as they outscored the Wildcats 29-15.

Lance Clayburg scored 4 early points, Gabe Obert added a bucket and Easton Hays got to the rim for a layup and Coon Rapids Bayard went up 8-0 to start the game. John Whitver found Emmett Snyder for a bucket, getting the Wildcats on the board. Ethan Olberding hit a three and Glidden Ralston was down 15-7 late  in the quarter but Gabe Obert got to the rim and tipped in a bucket just before the end of the 1st quarter and Coon Rapids Bayard led 17-7 at the end of the 1st quarter. Coon Rapids Bayard got sloppy early in the 2nd quarter and the Wildcats took advantage, with Ethan Olberding and Cale Klocke knocking down threes, pulling within 17-13. Coon Rapids Bayard settled in, maintaining the lead before closing the half strong, going up by ten when Easton Hays found Tanner Oswald for a three. Hays layup in the closing seconds of the  half, made it 30-16 at half.

Coon Rapids Bayard had an 11-0 run between the end of the 2nd quarter and the beginning of the 3rd quarter, taking a 20 p0int lead. The Wildcats pulled back within 14 at 36-22 but Coon Rapids Bayard responded with a 15-3 run to put the game away.

Lance Clayburg was huge, leading the Crusaders with 25 points and 10 rebounds. He added 6 steals. Gabe Obert finished with 17 points and 3 steals. Easton Hays added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Raiden Doty had 9 rebounds.

Glidden Ralston was led by Ethan Olberding with 9 points, Cale Klocke finished with 7 points and John Whitver and Tyler Brant led the team with 3 rebounds.

The Crusaders head to Paton Churdan on Tuesday. The Wildcats entertain Paton Churdan Friday in Sectional play.

IKM-Manning had thirteen players score and used a big 3rd quarter to take over and dominant on the road. The Wolves were tied at 11 at the end of the 1st quarter, built a seven point lead at half then held the Rams scoreless in the 3rd quarter, building a 32 point lead. The win improves the Wolves to 5-14 overall, heading into a conference game with Audubon on Tuesday. IKM-Manning had 18 assists to go with 11 steals.

Ross Kusel  had a team high 10 points along with 4 steals. Amos Rasmussen  had a balanced game with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Eli Dreyer had 5 assists. Nolan Ramsey and Dalton Gross each had 8 points and Lane Sams added 7 points and 5 rebounds.

A tough stretch on defense dug a hole the Rockets dug out of but couldn’t overcome. They were down 20 early in the 4th quarter before trimming it to 5. A turnover helped the Bulldogs dig themselves out of trouble and they held on down the stretch. Ar-We-Va was down by 5 at the end of the 1st quarter before falling down 11 at half. The lead grew to 18 after the 3rd as the Rockets struggled to score and make stops in the 3rd. The Rockets struggled to make shots, scoring in single digits in each of the first- three quarters. They battled hard in the 4th quarter before falling short.

Emmett Neumann continues to come on strong, leading the way with 14 points. Cooper Kock had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds along with blocking 3 shots. Will Ragaller finished with 9 points and 10 assists.

The Rockets fall to 7-13 overall and 4-11 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They host CAM Anita on Tuesday.

Paton Churdan started the game well, scoring 20 points in the 1st quarter, but they struggled to score the rest of the game. The Spartans continued to score well, opening up a 53-28 lead by half and 71-34 by the end of the 3rd quarter. The Rockets fall to 1-17 overall and 1-9 in the Rolling Valley as they prepare to host Coon Rapids Bayard on Tuesday.

Justin Stream led the Rockets with 12 points, Shaydon Thurman added 8 points and Brayden Smith had 6 points and 6 rebounds.
