Girls Swimming Results for Tuesday, October 19th
Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln at Carroll
Carroll’s final home swim meet of the regular season was another sweeping success for the Tigers as they won all the relay events and five individual events against Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln.
Emma Myers and Jenna Currier both had successful days as both swimmers grabbed first place finishes in all of their events. Myers won the 200 IM with a time of 2:25.80 and the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:11.57. She was also part of the winning 200 medley relay team along with Ellie and Ashley Beagle and Myers, and the 400 free relay team, along with Ellie Beagle, Hailey Burns, and Amelia Holt. Currier’s successful day included setting a new school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.58, previously set by Krystin Winker in 2007 with a time of 1:01.69, and winning the 50 free with a time of 25.29. She also was part of the winning 200 free relay team, along with Burns, Ashley Beagle, and Holt.
Holt also saw success in her individual events, where she won the 500 free with a time of 6:18.67, and got second place in the 200 IM behind Myers with a time of 2:32.85. Burns finished behind Holt in the 500 free with a time of 6:23.71. Lydia Dose and Ashley Beagle both finished second in their individual events, with Dose finishing the 100 fly in 1:28.84 and Beagle finishing in the 100 free in 1:01.31. The Tigers as a team won the meet with 97.5 points.
Carroll wraps up the regular season as they travel to Perry to take on Algona and Perry on Tuesday, October 26th.
