Ryan Clair hit 3-3’s in the 1st half, Griffin Glynn grabbed a few offensive rebounds that led to buckets as Kuemper built and early lead and never trailed as they pulled away for a convincing win. The Knights held off every Wildcats run in the 1st half, then blew the game open in the 3rd quarter and put it away in the 4th. The defense adjusted, taking away the Wildcats dribble drive in the 2nd half and didn’t give up many 3’s. Jordan Tryon drained a few big 3’s in the 2nd half, keeping the Knights in control.
Dylan Schon had three early steals and Kuemper built a 6-0 lead after free throws from Schon and buckets from Griffin Glynn and Jack Badding. Ryan Clair hit the first of his three 1st half 3’s and Kuemper was up 9-2. West Lyon pulled within 9-7 but Ryan Clair responded with back-to-back baskets and the Knights were up 13-7. West Lyon went on a 5-0 run later in the 1st quarter and trailed 15-14 but Dylan Schon kept the Knights up with a basket making it 17-14. West Lyon missed a shot at the buzzer to end the 1st and Kuemper led 17-16. Dylan Schon and Griffin Glynn both scored a bucket and Ryan Clair added a three and Kuemper 24-16 early in the 2nd quarter. Griffin Glynn scored back-to-back baskets and Ryan Clair added another three and Kuemper pushed their lead to 31-17. West Lyon responded with a 7-2 run and trailed 33-26 but Kuemper scored the final four in the half with Jordan Tryon ending the half with a three.
West Lyon pulled within 39-30 early in the 2nd half but Jack Badding scored for Kuemper and Ryan Clair added a pair of free throws and Kuemper led 43-30. Jordan Tryon hit a pair of 3’s, pushing the Kuemper lead to 49-34 and Tanner Badding extended the lead to 51-34. Jordan Tryon pushed the lead to 19 with his final three and Kuempere was up 54-35 late in the 3rd. Griffin Glynn had a pair of dunks in the 4th quarter and Ryan Clair scored several baskets inside as the Knights controlled the rest of the game to win 71-49.
Ryan Clair paced Kuemper with 24-points and 6 rebounds with Griffin Glynn having a nifty double-double with 15-points and 10 rebounds. Glunn added 5 assists. Jack Badding had 9-points and was tipping passes away from West Lyon all game with a great defensive effort. Jordan Tryon drained 4-3’s for 12-points and Dylan Schon had 6-pointss and 4 steals.
The Knights are 8-3 and will head to Denison Schleswig on Tuesday.

Glidden Ralston did a nice job handling the Rebels press in the 1st quarter as the game went back and forth. They trailed 16-12 at the end of the 1st quarter. Both teams went on runs in the 2nd quarter with Westwood ended the half on a run and leading 26-21 at half. The Wildcats fell down by 9-points early in the 3rd quarter but they closed the quarter on a run and trailed 42-37 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Rebels pressure began to take it’s toll in the 4th quarter, leading to Wildcats turnovers helping the Rebels stretch the lead as they outscored the Wildcats 16-9 in the 4th to win 66-46.
Blayce Nelson paced the Wildcats with 14-points with Colton Rohrbeck having 9-points, Dawson Majerus scored 8-points and Carson Peters had 7-points.
Glidden Ralston falls to 2-8 overall and will head to Woodbine on Tuesday.

It was a rough shooting game as Ar-We-Va went 1-16 from the three-point line and were 8-17 from the free throw line. The Rockets still had a chance to win, trailing 25-24 at half and 34-31 heading to the final stanza. Wyatt Ragaller paced the Rockets attack with 15-points. Derek Thomsen and Hayden Studer both had 7-points. Tyson Von Glan had a team high 8 rebounds and Devon Ehlers had 5 rebounds.
The loss drops the Rockets to 6-5 overall as they host Exira-EHK on Tuesday.
