Kuemper faced off with a cross-state opponent in Dakota Valley. The Knights were without leading scorer Brock Badding. They still managed to jump out to a 7-0 lead after a Griffin Glynn 3 opened up the scoring. Tatum Sorenson was the one that the Knights had to key in on as he would score eight straight to tie it up at 10. Dakota Valley went a 8-5 run to close the 1st up 18-15. The Knights would stay behind for most of the 2nd, as the Panthers played fast, hard defense. Ryan Clair had 7 of the final 11 to tie it at 27 than Griffin Glynn hit a shot to end the half tied at 29. Glynn opened up the half the ssme way he opened the game with a 3 and the Knights never looked back. They would go on a 13-0 run and hold the lead over into the 4th up 55-44. Ryan Clair really took over not in just a scoring role but a leadership role as he led the Knights with 26. The Knights would pick up the 78-66 win to go to 5-1 on the season as they take on cross-town rival Carroll Monday.

Glidden Ralston scored inside and outside early and used a strong defensive game to pick up a nice road win on Saturday. The Wildcats were steady all game, outscoring the Rams in all four quarters. Their ball movement kept the Rams off balance defensively in the 1st quarter, helping them score inside and kick for some good looks outside, knocking down some shots from deep. They led 17-13 at the end of the 1st quarter. The defenses took over in the 2nd quarter as neither team was getting clean looks. The Wildcats outscored the Rams 9-7 even though they got into trouble at times. Glidden Ralston held a 26-20 lead at half, putting some pressure on them for the 3rd quarter.
The Wildcats responded to the pressure well early in the 2nd half. They started quickly, building a double digit lead. The Rams recovered late in the quarter, pulling within four late but Glidden Ralston led 36-29 heading into the final stanza. The lead grew to double digits early in the 4th quarter as the Wildcats shot it well early in the 4th quarter. They were able to maintain around a 10-point lead the rest of the game, rolling to their first win of the season.
Glidden Ralston was balanced on offense with Greyson Renze leading them with 17-points and Carson Peters adding 16-points with 8 rebounds. Landon Rohrbeck had 9-points along with 7 rebounds and Blayce Nelson had 8-points with 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Alex Daniel contributed 6 steals and 4 points.
The Wildcats sit 1-6 heading into the break and will host Exira-EHK on January 3rd.

The Wolves controlled the final three quarters, snapping a three game losing streak to even their record at 4-4 going into the break. The Wolves held Missouri Valley to 17-points in the 2nd half after giving up nearly that many in the 1st quarter. IKM-Manning trailed 14-10 at the end of the 1st quarter but lead 27-26 at half. The defense had to carry the day as the Wolves didn’t shoot the ball well, going 5-25 from beyond the arc. They did a nice job making free throws, finishing the game 13-18 to hold off any Big Red rally. IKM-Manning didn’t turn it over a lot, having 14 for the game while having 7 steals on defense. The Wolves won the 2nd half 25-17 to earn the win.
Ben Ramsey had a team high 30-points with 5 assists while Wyatt Danner had 14-points with 6 rebounds. Ashton Ahrenholtz and Brock Kusel both pulled down 7 rebounds with a pair of steals. Tyson Smith had 6-points.
The Wolves are 4-4 overall and will host AHSTW on January 6th.
