Paton Churdan used a strong defensive game to earn their first win of the season. They held Colo-Nesco in single digits in three quarters and only 10-points in the 1st quarter. The Rockets trailed 10-9 at the end of the 1st quarter and 19-17 at half. They took off in the 3rd quarter as the defense locked down, holding the Royals to 6-points in the 3rd quarter. The offense started firing with a balanced attack as Alivya Smith led them with 12-points with Kaliyah Minnihan had 10-points. They were balanced behind those two with Chloe Happe scoring 7-points and Edynn Smith and Ella Tasler both scoring 6-points. The Rockets scored 24-point in the 2nd half while holding Colo-Nesco to 14-points. They almost outscored the Royals in the 4th stanza with 13-points.
The win improves the Rockets to 1-5 overall. They host Glidden Ralston on KIKD 106.7 on Friday.
