Kuemper exploded in the 6th to beat Lawton Bronson 11-3. The Knights scored 9-runs to rally for the win. Charlotte Schwabe started the rally in the 6th with a single, her third hit of the game. Addison Schon hit a double and Claire Venner singled to drive in Schon after Schwabe scored on a passed ball. Kaylie Wolterman singled and Kyla Wiskus singled with 2-outs. Morgan Masching walked to score Venner and Chloe Gehling singled to drive in Wolterman. Ellee Schreck blew the game open with a triple, emptying the bases. Schwabe added her second single of the inning and Addison Schon ended the game with a double to score Schwabe.

Charlotte Schwabe led the Knights with 4 hits including a double, driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice. She pitched 4 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run. Chloe Gehling had 3 hits and scored 3 runs. Addison Schon had a pair of doubles with an RBI. Schon earned the win, pitching 2 innings, allowing 1 hit and no earned runs. Ellee Schreck had a triple, finishing with 4 RBI and scored a run.

Kuemper went 1-1 at the tournament, falling to West Monona 11-4. The Knights big inning came in the 3rd, scoring 3-runs with Addison Schon hitting a 2-run home run. Chloe Gehling singled with 1-out in the 3rd and scored on a single by Charlotte Schwabe, after Gehling had stolen 3rd base. Addison Schon cleared the bases with her home run and Kuemper pulled within 6-4. West Monona responded in their half of the 3rd, scoring 4-runs. Their big inning was the 2nd, scoring 5-runs to lead 6-1 going to the 3rd. Kaylie Wolterman singled to score Addison Schon in the 3rd for the Knights other run.

Chloe Gehling had a pair of hits and scored a run. Addison Schon had a 2-run home run and scored twice. Charlotte Schwabe had an RBI and scored a run. Kaylie Wolterman had a base hit and drove in a run.

The Knights are 9-8 heading into Saturday game at Glidden Ralston on 93.7 KKRL.

Carroll and East Sac At OABCIG Tournament

East Sac battled hard against an 8-3 Roland Story team in the opening round of the OABCIG Tournament on Friday. The Raiders gave up a pair of runs on 3 hits in the 3rd but answered in the bottom half. Lilly Lode singled and stole 2nd base. Addisen Ehler singled to score Lode from 3rd base and East Sac was down 2-1. Roland Story manufactured a run in the 4th on a pair of hits, going up 3-1. East Sac didn’t get another hit the rest of the game, but Jordin Carroll walked and was stranded at 3rd in the 5th inning.

Addisen Ehler had a base hit with an RBI and Lilly Lode had a base hit and scored a run. Chloe Bieret added a base hit. Makenzie Friedman pitched 6 innings, allowing 9 hits and 3 earned runs with 6 strikeouts.

The Raiders fall to 7-3 and will face Carroll on Saturday in the first of two games for them.

Carroll scored a pair of runs in the 1st inning as the bats were hot early. The Tigers kept hitting the ball but right at the defense the rest of the game. Carroll began to struggle on defense after the 1st inning and Storm Lake scored 6-runs in the 2nd and 4th innings to end the game in 4 innings. Brylee Mrla reached in the 1st inning scored when Tahlia Hahn bunted and Storm Lake tried to make the play at 3rd, throwing the ball away. Hahn scored later in the inning for the Tigers second run. Bailey Bowman, Kyra Hosenfelt and Kyla Owen all added hits for the Tigers.

Carroll is 0-10 and will open with East Sac in the 1st of two games on Saturday.

Glidden Ralston had another impressive performance, winning in four innings at Boyer Valley. The Wildcats offense has been on a roll and kept it up on Friday, collecting 13 hits to score 12-runs. They scored 3-runs in the 1st inning, then added 4-runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings to put the game away.

Kennedy Thooft had a team high 3 hits, including a double while driving in 4 RBI. Bryn Renze and Olivia Squibb both had a pair of hits with Renze doubling and scoring 3 runs while Squibb had a pair of RBI and scored twice. Chloe Peters doubled and scored twice. Jaelyn Subbert earned the win, going 4 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs with 7 strikeouts.

The Wildcats improved to 7-1 and will host Kuemper Saturday morning at 11:00 on 93.7 KKRL.

The Spartans were able to rally from down 3-0 to earn a hard fought 4-3 win. AHSTW had back-to-back doubles in the 3rd to take a 1-0 lead, then extended it to 3-0 with back-to-back hits in the 4th. Exira-EHK-Audubon began their comeback in the 4th with Abby Wanser, who had a big night at the plate drawing a walk. Alissa Testroet walked with 1-out. AHSTW made an error and Jordan Mulford followed it up with a single to score Testroet, pulling the Spartans within 3-2. Riley Miller began the rally in the 5th and Maya King ran for her, scoring on a triple by Abby Wanser, who had doubled earlier in the game. Lucy Stanerson and Alissa Testroet both singled and Wanser scored the go ahead run on a AHSTW error. Riley Miller struck out 4 batters over the final two innings, holding AHSTW to 1 hit and two baserunners the rest of the game. Both of them were in the 7th before Miller struck out the final two batters.

Abby Wanser had a double and triple, scoring twice while driving in an RBI. Jordan Mulford had a base hit, and an RBI and Taryn Petersen had a pair of hits. Alissa Testroet had a base hit and scored a run. Riley Miller earned the win, going 7 innings, allowing 8 hits and 2 earned runs with 13 strikeouts.

The Spartans improved to 7-6 and will travel to Tri Center on Monday.

The game slipped away from South Central Calhoun in the 5th inning with Emmetsburg scoring 12-runs to pull away for the win. The Titans trailed 7-5 entering the 5th and led 4-3 going to the 4th inning. South Central Calhoun scored a pair of runs in the 1st to pull within 4-2 and took a 4-3 lead in the 3rd with a pair of runs. They added their final run in the 4th inning.

Haylee Wiederin led the Titans offense with a pair of hits and scored a run. Shannon Melody and Mikelle Heinrichs both had a base hit and drove in a run. Quinn Maschke and Kenley Wuebker both had an RBI.

The loss drops the Titans to 0-9 as they host Alta-Aurelia on Monday.

IKM-Manning pounded the ball in the first game of the doubleheader, scoring in every inning, including pushing 6-runs across the plate in the 3rd inning when they sent ten girls to the plate. The Wolves trailed 2-0 going into the bottom 1st before tying the game with Alikxa McGinn doubling and Karlee Arp walking. Kadynnce Ketcham drove in a run and IKM-Manning tied the game going into the 2nd inning. They didn’t get their first lead until the scored 3-runs in the 2nd as Underwood added a pair of runs in the top half. Laura McCarville led off with a base hit for the Wolves and Anna Stangl drove in the run. Karlee Arp doubled and Kegan Eischeid drove in Stangl and Arp and the Wolves led 5-4. IKM-Manning took control of the game in the 3rd. They shut out the Eagles and nearly went down in order in the bottom half. Reagan Hoffman singled with 2-outs to start the 2-out rally. Anna Stangl, Alikxa McGinn and Karlee Arp all walked and Kegan Eischeid doubled, driving them all home. Taylor Beckendorf followed moments later with a 2-run double and IKM-Manning led 11-4. The Wolves added three more runs in the 4th with Alixa McGinn driving in Reagan Hoffman and Keagan Eischeid picking up RBI 5 and 6 with a single, scoring Anna Stangl and McGinn.

Kegan Eisheid had 3 hits with a double and 6 RBI, Anna Stangl and Alikxa McGinn both had 2 hits with both scoring 3 runs, McGinn added a double. Kadynce Ketcham had 2 hits with an RBI and scored a  run and Karlee Arp added a double and scored 3 runs. Reagan Hoffman was big in the 9th spot in the lineup with a hit and 2 runs scored, getting on base 3 times.

IKM-Manning hit the ball well in game 2 but struggled in the circle as Underwood scored 14-runs, 7 of them coming in the 5th inning. The Eagles went up 6-2 going into the bottom 4th after scoring 3-runs in the 1st and 2 in the 4th, The Wolves responded, scoring 6-runs to lead 8-6. The Wolves first-six batters reached base in the 3rd, with Kadynce Ketcham reaching on an error to lead off. Taylor Beckendorf also got on with an error. Macy Rasmussen and Hannah McKinney both got a base hit and Alexis Olson reached on a fielder’s choice. Anna Stangl singled to score a pair of runs as the Wolves batted ten girls in the inning. The lead for the Wolves was short lived. Underwood scored 7-runs in the 5th inning and led 14-8. The Wolves trimmed the deficit to two in the 6th. Alikxa McGinn tripled and Karlee Arp doubled, driving home McGinn. Arp scored on a ground out by Keagan Eischeid. Alexis Olson had a 2-out single in the 7th but the Wolves weren’t able to muster anymore hits, falling 14-10.

Anna Stangl, Alikxa McGinn and Karlee Arp all had 2 hits for the Wolves with McGinn tripling and scoring 2 runs, Arp doubled with 2 RBI and scoring a run and Stangl had 2 RBI and scored twice. Keagan Eischeid and Kadynce Ketcham both had a pair of RBI and Hannah McKinney had a pair of RBI and scored a run.

The split of the doubleheader moves IKM-Manning to 5-8 on the season. They head to Coon Rapids Bayard on Monday on 93.7 KKRL.
