Ar-We-Va softball had their 2nd game of the year tonight as Storm Lake St. Mary’s came to Vail Iowa. Ar-We-Va fell behind 1-0 in the top of the 2nd inning after both teams failing to get runs in the 1st. Ar-We-Va than caught a spark in the 2nd inning with Amber Ragaller and Aubrey McCollough both hit singles and were brought in to go up 2-1 after the 2nd. Storm Lake St. Mary’s offense fell through after the 2nd as they did not score again. Ar-We-Va would go through the whole batting order in the 3rd. They would score 5 of their 10 in this inning off of 6 hits and 3 walks. They would follow this up with 3 more runs which 2 come from a 2 RBI single from Sarah Melton in the bottom of the 4th. They would hang on in the 5th to win 10-1 and pick up their 1st win of the season.

Riverside went to IKM-Manning on Tuesday. IKMM came into this 4-4 and doubled their win total from last year. Riverside’s offense dominated during the game. They got up 1-0 in the 1st and never looked back. They doubled that in the 2nd with 2 runs and than tripled it in the 3rd and got 3. After this they added 2 in the 4th while IKMM got their 2 in the 5th. Lastly Riverside tacked on 3 in the 6th to win it 11-2 on the road.

Kuemper hosted a Hawkeye 10 matchup on Monday in St. Albert. St. Albert struggled at the plate over the night as they only had 5 hits and got 1 run across. Kuemper opened the 1st inning with Chloe Gehling hitting a triple and than scoring from an RBI from Ellee Schreck. Kaylie Wolterman, Lauren Gehling and Chloe Gehling all scored in the 2nd to make it 4-0 in favor of the Knights. St. Albert would get their only run in the 3rd. Kuemper would get 1 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th. Lastly in the 6th, Chloe Gehling scored her 3rd of the game to close out a 9-1 win at home.
