State Track Results Saturday, May 24th
It was cloudy as the final day of the State Track meet got underway, but it didn’t slow down the IKM-Manning Boys Sprint Medley team. They ran one of their best times of the season, though some of the guys had a quick turnaround after closing out the Friday portion of the event in the 4×100 or 4×400. The Wolves nearly matched their season best, running a 1:36.93 with Davis Rasmussen, Ashton Ahrenholtz, Max Butler and Abe Polzien.
Coon Rapids Bayard Girls Shuttle Hurdle continued to impress at the State Track meet, getting a strong run from Lauren Cook to start the race, Aubrey Hofbauer continued their good position, keeping them in 2nd in their heat. Amelia Eddy held closed the gap between 1st and 2nd and Malia Clayburg gave them another terrific close. The Crusaders were 2nd in their heat and 6th overall in 1:09.11.
Caden Oswald of Coon Rapids Bayard had a strong start in the 100 Meters, then hit top speed over the final 40 meters, passing, then holding off the runner to his left to finish 7th in 11:31.
Redge Potts of South Central Calhoun battled through the 1600 Meters, finishing in 24th with a 4:52.87.
The IKM-Manning Girls 4×100 had a second very strong race in the last two days, tying their time from the prelims on Friday with a 51.25. They were seeded 8th coming into Saturday but finished 7th with Grace Carroll, Caylie Rasmussen, Oriah Meiners and Olivia Linde.
The IKM-Manning broke their school record for a second straight day in the 4×100, edging the old record by 0:01, finishing in 44.18 to finish in 6th place. The Wolves were seeded 8th coming into the race but ran a nearly flawless race with Davis Rasmussen, Max Butler, Ashton Ahrenholtz and Abe Polzien.
