Class 1A 2:00-8:00

Trevon Keely of Paton Churdan had quite a battle in the Class 1A High Jump before outdueling Landon Blum of Woodbine. Both guys kept making outstanding jumps as the height kept moving up. Keely cleared 6-06 and Blum missed but moved the height to 6-07 and cleared it to put pressure on Keely. Keely made 6-07 pushing the bar to 6-08. Keely had the advantage having less misses and Blum had the latest miss, allowing Keely to focus on just clearing the height. Keely made it over 6-08 but Blum failed on his first-two attempts before having the bar moved to 6-09. He wasn’t able to clear it and Keely earned a hard-fought State Championship. Keely made three attempts at 6-09 and wasn’t able to clear but had already clinched the State Title.
