The Kuemper Knights picked up another Hawkeye Ten Conference win as they knocked off Glenwood in a defensive battle. The Knights struggled in the first half with how physical Glenwood was playing. The Knights were able to jump out to a 5-3 lead in the first quarter. Kuemper would lead 13-7 going to the second quarter. Kuemper struggled with turnovers in the second quarter as Glenwood would come storming back. The Rams would lead 20-18 at the half. Coming out of the locker room, Kuemper would find a groove as they were the physical team in the third quarter. The Knights would outscore Glenwood 19-4 in the third quarter as they took the lead back. Kuemper would lead 37-24 going to the fourth quarter. Glenwood would cut the lead to eight late in the quarter, but Kuemper would go on to win 45-35.

Kuemper had two players score in double figures. They were led by Kaylie Simons, who scored 18 points in the win. Elsa Tiefenthaler chipped in 10 points for the Knights. Karsyn Overmohle recorded nine points for the Knights. She hit some big threes in the third quarter. As a team, Kuemper recorded 31 rebounds. Tiefenthaler pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. With the win, Kuemper moves to 9-6. The Knights are back in action on Monday against Harlan.

The Spartans were able to use their half court and full court pressure in the 1st quarter along with controlling the boards to build a good lead. Harlee Fahn and Jaelynn Petersen did a lot of the damage on the offensive glass and Kadence Sporrer and Taryn Petersen shared the ball well and had several steals. The Rockets kept battling, having stretches where they shot the ball well from beyond the arc. They trailed 4-3 early but the Spartans pushed the lead to 24-6 at the end of the 1st quarter. Riley Miller had a strong offensive game for Exira-EHK, cutting to the basket and hitting mid range jumpers. Gabby Hundling and Azaya Martinez did most of the damage for Ar-We-Va on the offensive end. Exira-EHK extended the lead in the 2nd quarter and were up 35-12 at half. 

The Spartans subbed freely from the 2nd quarter on, as both teams got good minutes for lots of players. Taryn Petersen and Riley Miller shot the ball well for the Spartans in the 2nd half and Zoey Rasmussen knocked down a pair of threes. Gabby Hundling had a strong defensive stretch in the 3rd quarter with several steals in a couple minute stretch. Exira-EHK pushed the lead to 57-21 at the end of the 3rd quarter. 

Taryn Petersen led the Spartans with 21 points along with 8 steals. Kadence Sporrer dished out 7 assists to go with 3 steals. Riley Miller finished with 13 points, Jaelynn Petersen had 11 points and 9 rebounds and Harlee Fahn finished with 9 rebounds. 

Azaya Martinez paced Ar-We-Va with 11 points to go with 4 rebounds. Gabby Hundling added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Hallie McCollough had 2 assists. 

Exira-EHK improved to 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the Rolling Valley. They host Boyer Valley on Friday. Ar-We-Va slips to 2-9 overall and 1-7 in the Rolling Valley. They head to Paton Churdan on Tuesday.

Kassidy Wenck and Allison Snyder both had 8 points as the Wildcats struggled on the offensive end on Thursday. They played well defensively, keeping themselves in the game until the Wildcats pulled away with a big 4th quarter. The Wildcats trailed 13-3 at the end of the 1st quarter and were down 26-8 at half. They battled well in the 3rd quarter, playing the Wildcats to a 10-10 tie. 

Glidden Ralston falls to 3-8 overall and will host Paton Churdan on Friday.
