Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Five Area Girls Teams Compete at Audubon on Saturday

Girls Wrestling Results Saturday, December 7th

Carroll, East Sac, Kuemper and South Central Calhoun At Audubon Tournament 

Audubon had a champion with the freshman Macy Rasmussen earning four wins on the day. South Central Calhoun was the top finishing team, just ahead of Carroll and the Wheelers. East Sac had a top 3 individual and Kuemper placed three girls in the top 6 as all five of the area girls teams competed in Audubon on Saturday. The Titans finished 13th with 51-points, going 7-8 on the day with all seven wins by fall. Carroll went 8-10 in matches with six wins by fall, a decision and a medical forfeit, taking 14th place with 48-points. Audubon was right behind the Tigers in 15th with 43-points. The Wheelers went 8-9 with six wins by fall, a major decision and a decision. East Sac edged Kuemper for 18th place with the Raiders scoring 31-points and Kuemper scoring 27-points to finish 19th. East Sac went 4-19 with two wins by fall, a decision and a medical forfeit. Kuemper was 6-12 with four wins by fall, a major decision and a decision. 

Macy Rasmussen of Audubon entered the tournament ranked 4th in the state as a freshman and didn’t disappoint. She won her weight class (120), going 4-0 with three wins by fall, including the championship match. She defeated Audrina Johansen of Glenwood by fall in 5:31. Her fourth win was by major decision. Emily Foran (155) was 6th for the Wheelers with a win by fall, going 1-2. 

Meia Hefley (135) led the Titans, finishing in 2nd. She went 2-1 with two wins by fall. Laila Christophersen (155) was 3rd, going 3-1 with all three wins by fall. Emery Kramer (115) was 2-2, with both wins by fall, finishing in 6th place. 

Emma Daniels (235) led Carroll with a 2-1 day. Both her wins were by fall, helping her finish in 2nd place. She fell in the title match, losing by fall (5:24) to Haley Armstrong of Atlantic. Kamee Jones (115) was 3-1 with a win by fall, a decision and a medical forfeit, taking 5th place and Brianna Hernandez (100) finishing in 6th place, going 1-2 with her win by fall. 

Sophia Villegas (130) of East Sac finished in 3rd, going 2-1 with a win by fall and a decision. Larissa Bussinger (135) was 1-2 with a win by fall. 

Sadie Smith (125) and Charlotte Schwabe (155) of Kuemper both went 2-1, both finishing in 5th. Smith had a win by fall and a decision while Schwabe earned two wins by fall. Cara Schuette (145) was 6th with a major decision (15-3), going 1-2 at the tournament.
