Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Audubon Outlasts Glidden Ralston to Stay Unbeaten

Audubon outscored Glidden Ralston 22-0 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined helping them earn a hard fought win as Glidden Ralston battled the 6th ranked Wheelers to a 32-28 game in the 1st and 4th quarters combined. The Wheelers were able to establish their ground game, getting big games from Aaron Olsen and Mason Kasperbauer, helping to make up for the loss of starting quarterback Carson Wessel. Olsen ran for 218-yards and Kasperbauer added 152-yards, combining for 370-yards of the Wheelers 392-yards on the ground. The Wildcats ran for 256-yards with Colby Wallace pacing them with 129-yards. He was held out of the endzone for the first time this season.

Aaron Olsen put the Wheelers up early with a 50-yard touchdown, putting them up 8-0 with 10:32 left in the 1st quarter. The Wildcats answered with 7:11 left in the quarter on a 25-yard touchdown run by Lucas Christian, tying the game at 8. The 1st quarter offensive explosion continued with Audubon answering on a 33-yard touchdown by Aaron Olsen with 4:45 left. Glidden Ralston quickly pulled the Wildcats within 16-14 with Colby Wallace finding Lucas Christian for a 51-yard touchdown. Audubon held a 16-14 lead going into the 2nd quarter, stretching the lead to 24-14 with 5:57 left in the half on a 61-yard run by Aaron Olsen.

Audubon broke the game open in the 3rd quarter, scoring a pair of touchdowns. Aaron Olsen struck again, this time with a 63-yard punt return for a touchdown. They added a 53-yard touchdown run by Olsen with 3:57 left in the quarter and led 38-14 entering the 4th quarter. The Wheelers defense put the game on ice early in the 4th quarter on Jack Stanerson interception. He returned the ball 17-yards for a touchdown and the Wheelers were up 46-14. Glidden Ralston tried to crawl back in the game. Colby Wallace hit Dawson Majerus for a 7-yard touchdown with 6:22 left to cut the deficit to 46-20. Mason Kasperbauer broke off another big run for the Wheelers, scoring on a 50-yard touchdown with 4:49 left, clinching the win for the Wheelers. Glidden Ralston closed the scoring with a 18-yard touchdown run by Colton Rohrbeck.

Aaron Olsen led the Wheelers with 218-yards rushing with 4 touchdowns and returned a punt 63-yards for a touchdown. Mason Kasperbauer had 152-yards rushing with a touchdown. Adam Obrecht paced the Wheelers defense with 11 tackles, 8 of them were solo. Colton Hansen had 6 tackles and Jack Stanerson returned an interception 17-yards for a touchdown.

Colby Wallace ran for 129-yards and passed for 119-yards and 2 touchdowns for Glidden Ralston. Lucas Christian had 3 catches for 69-yards and a touchdown with Dawson Majerus catching a pair of passes for 48-yards with a touchdown. Alex Daniel led them with 7.5 tackles.

Audubon improves to 6-0 overall and and 4-0 in the district. They host Collins Maxwell on Friday. Glidden Ralston slips to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in districts. They head to Coon Rapids Bayard on Friday.
