Kuemper At CYO At Bishop Garrigan
The Knights had a strong showing Saturday at the CYO Tournament, going 4-1 in matches and 8-3 in sets, dropping a set to St Edmond to open the morning before rolling off eight straight set wins to set up a championship match against 2nd ranked in Class 4A Bishop Heelan. The Knights suffered their first loss of the season losing in two sets. Kuemper knocked off St Edmond 21-12 and 15-7 after dropping their opening set. They swept St Mary’s-Remsen, Gehlen Catholic and Bishop Garrigan. St Mary’s didn’t score in double digits in either set and Gehlen Catholic was held to single digits in the second set. Garrigan was held to 13 and 10 points respectively. Kuemper played well in loss to Heelan, falling 21-17 in the opening set and 21-18 in the final set.
Brianna Wittrock paced the Knights with 31 kills along with 8 blocks and 8 aces. She added 15 digs. Mariah Heuton added 23 kills, Kolbi Peter had 17 kills with Heuton adding 3 blocks and Peter a pair of aces. Elsa Tiefenthaler had a team high 41 assists with Karsyn Overmohle finishing with 30 assists and 5 aces. Tiefenthaler added 11 digs and 3 assists. Kaylie Simons had 31 digs and 3 aces, Brooke Rohe had 14 digs and Alivia Schenkelberg had 6 blocks with Zoe Brunning having 4 blocks and 3 aces.
The Knights are 25-1 on the season and will host Atlantic and Shenandoah on Tuesday.

Audubon, IKM-Manning and South Central Calhoun At Carroll Tournament
Carroll advanced to the title match against Newell Fonda, South Central Calhoun ended the day 2-2 in matches, falling to Newell Fonda in the semifinals, after taking second place in their pool. IKM-Manning didn’t win a match, but won the first set in two of their three match losses on the day and Audubon won their opening set before finishing the day 0-3 in matches. Carroll ended the day 3-2 in matches with both losses coming to Newell Fonda, which won the pool with Carroll, dropping the Tigers into the semifinal match with Storm Lake, which defeated South Central Calhoun to win their district. Carroll rolled past Storm Lake in the semifinals, winning 21-12, 21-14, advancing into a title game match against Newell Fonda. The Mustangs edged past South Central Calhoun, which played without Norah Riedesel. Newell Fonda won 21-18, 22-20 to slide into a rematch against Carroll. Carroll led the first set against the Mustangs but Newell Fonda rallied to win 21-18. Carroll dominated the second set, cruising to a 21-11 win. The Mustangs pulled the third set out late, sliding past Carroll 15-12.
The Tigers went 8-4 in sets, South Central Calhoun was 5-3 in sets, IKM-Manning was 2-6 and Audubon ended their day 1-6 in sets.
Katelyn Aden led Carroll with 42 kills with Olivia Rowedder adding 32 kills and Amanda Wardell with 23 kills. Analia Ayala also hit double figures with 10 kills. Emily Puck moved the ball around, finishing with 90 assists. Marasyn Wittrock paced the back row with 40 digs, followed by McKenna Schwertfeger with 24 digs, Katelyn Aden 17 digs, Aubrie Drake 17 digs and Emily Puck 13 digs. Olivia Rowedder had a team high 10 blocks with Amanda Wardell adding 7 blocks. Katelyn Aden paced their serve attack with 7 aces with Emily Puck, Aubrie Drake and Kiyah Wittrock all with 5 aces.
Jayci Graeve paced South Central Calhoun with 30 kills to go with 12 assists, 12 digs and a team high 7 aces. Brenna McAlister added 24 kills along with 18 digs and 5 aces. Norah Riedesel had 60 assists with Alexa Holm adding 27 digs and 5 aces. Brooklynn Pruitt added 4 aces with Sadie Wheelock and Kaitlyn O’Neill both having 9 kills.
Addisyn Bandow paced IKM-Manning with 21 kills, Keagan Eischeid had 15 kills, Grace Carroll and Ella Langel 7 kills for IKM-Manning. Karlee Arp had 39 assists along with 22 digs. Anan Stangl paced the back row with 31 digs with Grace Carroll adding 18 digs, Keagan Eischeid 16 digs and Olivia Linde 14 digs. Grace Carroll and Keagan Eischeid both had 3 blocks and McKenna Benton added 2 aces.
Harlow Miller led Audubon with 19 kills with Anna Larsen adding 23 assists and a team high 28 digs. Kadence Brannan-Sporrer had 18 digs, Abby Wanser 13 digs and a team high 3 aces. Jordan Mulford and Harlow Miller both had 10 digs with Miller leading the Wheelers with 6 blocks.
Carroll is 12-8 and host North Polk on Tuesday. South Central Calhoun is 20-8 and has a triangular with SE Valley At Pocahontas Area on Thursday. IKM-Manning sits 2-6 and heads to East Sac with Coon Rapids Bayard for a triangular on Monday. Audubon is 5-11 heading into a road game with Missouri Valley on Tuesday.

Coon Rapids Bayard At OABCIG Tournament
Coon Rapids Bayard took 2nd at the OABCIG Tournament on Saturday, going 4-1 in matches and 9-3 in sets. They fell to Sidney in the championship match, winning the first set 21-16 before falling 21-14 and 15-9. They topped AHSTW in three set, winning sets one and three 21-13 and 15-11 while sweeping Lawton Bronson, OABCIG and Kingsley Pierson. The wins over OABCIG were tight, winning 26-24 and 21-19.
Malia Clayburg was huge for the Crusaders with 55 kills, 30 digs, 2 blocks and 3 aces. Ashtyn Klocke had 23 kills and 20 digs with Amelia Cook finishing with 106 assists and 31 digs. Aubrey Hofbauer added 11 kills, 3 aces and 15 digs with Anna Hart racking up 63 digs and 3 aces and Ella Heithoff added 39 digs with 7 kills.
The Crusaders sit 14-1 heading to East Sac for a triangular with IKM-Manning on Monday.
