Coon Rapids Bayard established the ground game in the 1st half, relying on Wyatt Oswald, Caden Oswald and Ethan Bauer to keep the defense off-balance. The offense line did a nice job creating holes and the Crusaders were able to cut back when needed to possess the ball. The offense punched it in the endzone in the 1st quarter, adding two more touchdowns in the 2nd quarter, building a 20-8 lead at half. Collins-Maxwell scored in the 2nd quarter picking up a little momentum. The Spartans ground game was effective in the 2nd half as injuries began to take their toll on Coon Rapids Bayard. Collins Maxwell ran for 255-yards, averaging 9.1 yards per carry, scoring a pair of touchdowns. The success in the run game helped their pass game just enough as they completed 3 of 11 passes with a pair of touchdowns. The Spartans outscored Coon Rapids Bayard 20-0 in the 2nd half to win 28-20.

Caden Oswald had another big game running the ball for Coon Rapids Bayard, rushing for 175-yards and a touchdown. He added an interception on defense. Wyatt Oswald finished with 77-yards on the ground, scoring a pair of touchdowns. Ethan Bauer added 71-yard rushing as the Crusaders ran for 323-yards, averaging 6-yards per carry. They went 0-3 in the passing game, finishing with 323-yards on offense. Max Shirbroun led the defense with 4.5 tackles.

The loss drops the Crusaders to 1-2 overall and 1-1in 8-Man District 9. The Crusaders host CAM on Friday.
