The East Sac County Raiders ran into a good OABCIG team on the road Friday as they struggled to move the ball till late in the game. East Sac got the ball to start the game but ultimately turned it over on downs. The Raider’s defense was strong to start the game as OABICG was forced to put on their opening possession. Neither team scored in the first quarter. The first points of the game came in the second quarter as OABCIG was able to get on the board with a touchdown and take an early 8-0 lead. The Falcon’s lead would grow on the next possession as ESC would throw a pick-six. The Raiders would trail 20-0 at the half. The Raiders defense only forced two punts during the game. The OABCIG lead would grow again in the third quarter as they would lead 33-0 going to the fourth quarter. East Sac County’s offense was able to get some rhythm late in the game as they scored on their last two drives. Sam Julin found Asher Lawler for an 81-yard touchdown for the Raider’s first score. On ESC’s next drive, Sam Julin found Jack Gullett for a 33-yard touchdown. The Raiders would go on to lose 48-14.
Sam Julin was 10-17 for 165 yards and two touchdowns for the Raiders. Carson Schmitt was the leading rusher for East Sac County, as he carried the ball just five times for 45 yards. Asher Lawler recorded two catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Jack Gullett also had a good game, as he caught four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Gabe King recorded nine tackles. Dawson Allen also had 6.5 tackles, with six coming as solo tackles. With the loss the Raiders fall to 0-2 on the season. ESC is back in action on Friday against Missouri Valley on 93.7 KKRL.
