Makenzie Friedmann pitched well for the Raiders in their tournament opener on Saturday, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits in 4 innings of work. She gave her team a chance, trailing 3-1 when she left the circle. The Raiders bats were silent most of the game, finishing with three hits. They had a nice rally with 2-outs in the 4th. Sarah Bontrager doubled and Anna McCollough singled to drive her in. East Sac trailed 3-1 after 4 innings with Storm Lake scoring twice in the 2nd inning and once in the top 4th. The Tornado’s added a pair of runs in the 5th to seal the win.

Sarah Bontrager finished with a pair of hits, including a double and scoring their lone run. Anna McCollough had their other hit, adding and RBI. Jillian Mack went 1 2/3 innings, allowing 1 hit.

East Sac got the bats going in their second game of the tournament along with getting a strong game in the circle from Miranda Gerdes and Jade Gustavson. The Raiders rolled to a win in 5 innings, moving them to 8-11 on the season.

Jamie Pierce was hit-by-pitch to start the game and Jen Aschinger followed it up with a single. The Raiders scored a run in the 1st, but it boosted confidence, helping them strike for 2-runs in the 2nd inning. Gracie Snyder reached on an error with 2-outs, staring the rally. Kendall Quirk doubled  and Jamie Pierce followed it with a double, scoring Quirk. Sarah Bontrager singled and scored on a sacrifice by Kamryn Ross in the 3rd and the Raiders were up 5-0. They blew the game open with a 5-run 4th inning. Gracie Snyder reached on an error for the second time in the game, Jamie Pierce, Jen Aschinger and Sarah Bontrager all singled with Bontrager getting an RBI. Kamryn Ross singled, driving in a run and Jade Gustavson drove in a pair of runs with a single. The Raiders led 9-0 going into the bottom of the 4th. Alta-Aurelia squeezed a pair of runs in the bottom half but East Sac salted it away in the 5th. Kendall Quirk walked and Jamie Pierce and Jen Aschinger both singled. Sarah Bontrager singled to score Pierce and Aschinger, ending the game.

Jamie Pierce, Jen Aschinger and Sarah Bontrager all had 3 hits with Pierce a perfect 3-3 with a double and scoring 3-runs. Aschinger scored twice and Bontrager added 3 RBI along with a pair of runs scored. Kamryn Ross and Jade Gustavson both drove in 2 RBI and Jordin Carroll scored twice. Kendall Quirk added a double and scored twice. Miranda Gerdes went 3 1/3 innings, allowing 1 hit and no earned runs. Jade Gustavson went 1 2/3 innings, allowing 2 hits with 4 strikeouts.

The Raiders host Ar-We-Va on Monday.

Anna Stangl was hit-by-pitch in the 4th inning and came in to score the Wolves only run as they fell to the host school, Woodbine in the opening round of the tournament on Saturday. Woodbine had three good innings on offense, scoring 4-runs in the 2nd and 4th innings and ending the game with a 3-run 5th inning. Ella Richards pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing 11 hits and 7 earned runs with a strikeout and no walks. The Wolves were no hit in the game.

LoMa has not added the game to the their schedule on Varsity Bound as the home team which means IKM-Manning isn’t able to post stats at this time. If LoMa adds the game, allowing IKM-Manning to post under Varsity Bound regulations we will update at a later time.

The Wolves are 2-24 and will host MVAOCOU on Tuesday.
