Carroll Merchants Earn A Big Win on Sunday

Carroll earned an important win on Sunday in front of 525 fans at Merchants Park, scoring early before putting the game away late with another offensive flurry. The Merchants collected 11 hits and allowed 6 hits. Sammy Harris knocked in Jake McClure in the 1st inning, giving the Merchants a 1-0 lead. Warren County tied the game at 1 with a run in the 2nd but the Merchants responded with a pair of runs in the bottom half. Bryce Hoskinson drove in Arrington Eason and Jordan Brandenburg. The lead hung at 3-1 until the 6th when Carroll extended it to 6-1. Bryce Hoskinson drive in Arrington Eason with a sac fly and Sammy Harris singled to score Jake McClure. The Merchants answered a run by Warren County in the 7th when Sammy Harris singled to score Bryce Hoskinson in the 8th.

Bryce Hoskinson had 3 hits with a double and dove in 3-runs. Jake McClure scored twice, Sammy Harris had a pair of hits and 2 RBI and Logan Harris added a pair of hits. Arrington Eason scored twice helping Quentin Culbertson pitched 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 earned runs with 5 strikeouts.

The Merchants improved to 4-8-1 and will travel to Clarinda on Tuesday.
