The Kuemper Knights pick up a hard-fought victory over Boone to advance to the state-team tennis tournament. Kaylie Simons started the match off with a 2-0 (6-1, 6-4) victory. In number three singles, Ella Schwarte picked up the second win for the Knights 2-0 (7-6, 6-4). Charlotte Schwabe and Julia Craig both lost 2-1 in singles. To end singles play, Brooke Rohe picked up a 2-0 (6-2, 6-4) to give the Knights a 3-2 lead. Simons and Schwarte won in doubles play for the Knights 2-0 (6-3,6-4). Tidgre and Rohe started doubles play with a loss to tie the match up 4-4 going to the last game. Craig and Schwabe won in the last match, picking up a 2-0 victory, going 12-2 in sets played. With the 5-4 win, Kuemper advances to the state tennis tournament. The Knights advance to take on Xavier Ceder Rapids on Saturday.
