The Kuemper Knights pick up an exciting win over Carroll on Monday. The game was a defensive standout, with both teams not getting a lot of shots off during the game. Both teams had opportunities in the first half but could not capitalize, as we would go to the half tied 0-0. Tanner Heithoff and Michael Kasperbauer made plays in both teams in goal all night long. With just over ten minutes left in the second half, Carson Kanne took advantage of a one-on-one situation but missed the shot on a nice save by Heithoff. After the save, the ball deflected off Heithoff and found Fletch Badding, who kicked it in for the goal. Kuemper would take a 1-0 lead. Carroll had chances to tie the game as the game wound down but was unable to score. The Knights went on to win 1-0 over Carroll. Kasperbauer finished with three saves in the game. Heithoff finished with ten saves in goal. With the win, Kuemper improved to 5-4 in the season. Carroll falls to 2-6 after the loss. The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday against Boone. The Knights will be in action on Tuesday against Glenwood.

The East Sac County Raiders picked up a 3-1 win as the game went to a shootout. As a team, the Raiders had 34 shots on goal in the win. Isaiah Aragon found a goal in the first half for the Raiders to give them a 1-0 lead. ESC would take a 1-0 lead going to the half. In the second half Atlantic was able to tie the game up at 1-1. The game would still be tied at the end of regulation 1-1. As overtime progressed, both teams were unable to score as the game remained tied, heading to a shootout. Sam Schmitt, Cade Bachman, and Riley Aragon all scored in the shootout as the Raiders went on to win 3-1. With the win ESC improves to 3-2 on the season. The Raiders are back in action on Thursday against Carroll.
