Girls Track Results For Thursday, April 11th

Audubon, Glidden-Ralston and Paton-Churdan at ACGC

Three local schools competed Thursday at ACGC, with three events taking home first-place finishes. All three first-place results came from the Audubon Wheelers. Jaelynn Petersen finished in first for the Wheelers in the 400 hurdles, running a time of 1:12.44. Audubon’s other two gold finishes were in relays. The Wheelers 4×200 team of Mattie Nielsen, Anna Larsen, Michelle Brooks, and Taryn Petersen ran a time of 1:55.56. Nielsen, Petersen, Brooks, and Jaelynn Petersen were the final first-place finish for the Wheelers in the shuttle hurdle. They ran a time of 1:14.56; for the Wildcats, Tiela Janssen finished in 3rd in the long jump. Janssen jumped 13-07.50, and Paton Churdans Alivya Smith finished in eight in the discus with a throw of 83-06.50.

Kuemper at Ogden

The Kuemper Knights had a strong showing Thursday at Ogden, finishing fifth in the team standings. Kuemper had only one first-place finish at the meet but recorded a handful of second places. Ellie Sibbel finished first in the shot put, throwing 36-01. Sibble also picked up a second-place finish in the discus with a throw of 99-11. Morgan Masching has been fantastic for Kuemper in the long jump, which continued Thursday. Masching finished second in the event, jumping 15-08. Masching’s jump was a new personal record. In total, Kuemper set nine personal records at the meet. The best relay on the night was the 4×200, which consisted of Morgan Masching, Elsa Tiefenthaler, Chloe Gehling, and Kalie Hausman. The girls ran a time of 2:01.40. The Knights finished with a total of 54 points in the team standings, which was good for fifth. Kuemper is back in action on Monday at Greene County.

Carroll at Tri Center

The Carroll Tigers finished in sixth out of 11 teams at Tri-Center Thursday with two overall first-place finishes. The Tigers shuttle hurdle team consisting of Katelyn Aden, Averi Burke, Autumn Fortner, and Olivia Rowedder ran a time of 1:15.15. The other first-place finish for the Tigers was in the 4x4oo. Aden, Burke, Marasyn Wittrock, and Kaci Wiederin ran a time of 4:24.43. Carroll had a couple of second-place finishes in the field events. Emma Kuhlmann finished second in the shot put, throwing 36-11. Olivai Rowedder recorded a second-place finish in the discus. Rowedder had a throw of 104-08. The Tigers are back in action on Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
