The Carroll Tigers earned their fifth win in their last six games with a big win over a good Carlisle team in overtime at home Tuesday night. Carlisle came into the game second in the Raccoon River Conference standings. The Tigers’ offense started strong as they jumped out to a 14-11 lead going into the second quarter. Carroll extended their lead in the second quarter, outscoring Carlisle 9-8 in a defensive quarter. Carroll would lead 23-19 at the half. Carlisle cut into the Tigers lead in the third quarter outscoing Carroll 18-17. Carroll would hold on to a 40-37 going to the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter was back and forth as the game would be tied 55-55 at the end of the quarter. Overtime was filled with defense. Olivia Rowedder knocked down some free throws down the stretch to help Carroll come out with a 61-58 win.
Katelyn Aden scored a team-high 17 points for the Tigers. Chloe Kock chipped in 14 off the bench for Carroll. Kock also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. As a team Carroll recorded 29 rebounds. Mollie Feld was outstanding defensively for Carroll against Carlisle’s best player, Macy Comito. With the win, Carroll improves to 11-8 and 8-7 in the Raccoon River Conference. The Tigers wrap up the regular season on Friday at ADM.

East Sac rallied back, down 40-34 late in the 3rd quarter to outscore South Central Calhoun 17-7 the rest of the game to earn their 8th win of the season. The game featured nine lead changes and six ties with the Titans holding the largest lead at 6 and the Raiders having a largest lead of 4. Both teams had players hit clutch shots or grab big rebounds or come up with clutch steals.
Brenna McAlister gave the Titans an early 3-0 lead and Mia Babcock extended it to 5-0. East Sac answered with five straight with Kendall Quirk scoring a bucket and Makenna Steiger hitting a three point play. The Titans went back up on a three from Bre Patterson and the Titans held the lead for the rest of the quarter. Brenna McAlister hit a shot just before the buzzer to give them a 14-11 lead. Macie Dorman knocked in a pair of free throws early in the 2nd quarter, pushing the Titans lead to 17-11. Addisen Ehler pulled East Sac to 17-13, then Sarah Bontrager got hot from deep, hitting three straight three’s for the Raiders putting them up 22-21 and 25-24. Blair Schleisman drained a three for South Central Calhoun that gave them a 24-22 lead as four straight baskets changed the lead. Addisen Ehler hit a free throw to tie the game at 26 at half.
Sarah Bontrager put the Raiders up 28-26 to start the 3rd quarter. Addisen Ehler extended it to 30-26 and the Raiders had their largest lead of the game. Bre Patterson hit a three for South Central Calhoun, pulling the Titans within 32-31, then hit another three, tying the game at 34. Blair Schleisman gave the Titans a 36-34 lead as the Titans pushed their lead to six. The Raiders, down 40-34, closed the quarter with six straight with Kendall Quirk scoring a bucket and free throw and Sarah Bontrager draining her fourth three to tie it at 40 after three quarters. Makenna Steiger drained a three to start the 4th and East Sac took the lead but Blair Schleisman scored to put the Titans up 44-43 after Bre Patterson tied the game with a bucket and free throw. Makenna Steiger answered with a clutch three and East Sac took the lead for good at 46-44. Addisen Ehler stretched it to four. The Titans pulled within two, twice but Chloe Bieret hit three free throws down the stretch to clinch the Raiders win.
Sarah Bontrager led the Raiders with 16-points, hitting 4-8 from three. Addisen Ehler had another double-double with 13-points and 13 rebounds, Kendall Quirk added 7-points with 13 rebounds. Makenna Steiger finished with 9-points with Jen Aschinger and Chloe Bieret both having 4 assists.
Bre Patterson scored a team high 18-points for South Central Calhoun along with pulling down 5 rebounds. Blair Schleisman added 9-points and 4 steals. Brenna McAlister added 7-points and Mia Babcock had 6-points and 8 rebounds.
The win improves East Sac to 8-13 on the season as they host Kuemper Saturday on 93.7 KKRL in the postseason. South Central Calhoun falls to 7-14 and will travel to Belmond Klemme on KIKD 106.7 on Saturday to open the postseason.

Kuemper picks up a big conference win over Denison-Schleswig Tuesday night, avenging a loss from earlier in the year. The Knights’s defense was excellent all night, holding Denison to single-digit points in two of the four quarters. Kuemper jumped out to a ten-point lead in the first quarter, 12-2. Denison-Schleswig cut into the Knights lead in the second quarter, outscoring Kuemper 13-11 in the second quarter. The Knights would lead 23-15 at the half. Kuemper’s offense came out of the locker room on fire, scoring 17 points in the quarter. The Knights’s defense continued to play well, holding Denison to only four points. The Knights would lead by double digits, 40-19 going to the fourth quarter. Kuemper would go on to win 47-30.
In the game, Kuemper pulled down 28 rebounds. 13 of which were on the offensive glass. Frannie Glynn and Elsa Tiefenthaler each recorded seven rebounds for the Knights. Tiefenthaler shot the ball well for Kuemper, recording a team-high 19 points. Tiefentahler shot 50 percent from he field, hitting seven of her 14 shot attempts. Lauen Boell picked up six steals on the defensive end for the Knights. With the win, Kuemper improves to 8-12 and 5-6 in the Hawkeye Ten. The Knights are back in action on Saturday at East Sac County.

The Glidden-Ralston Wildcats end a 12-game losing streak with a ten-point win over Paton Churdan Tuesday night. Paton Churdan jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, outscoring Glidden-Ralston 20-16. The Wildcats responded by putting up 20 points in the second quarter to lead 36-32 at the half. Glidden-Ralston picked it up defensively in the second half as they extended their lead in the third quarter. The Wildcats led Paton Churdan 47-40 going to the fourth quarter. Glidden-Ralston would go on to win 56-46.
Allison Snyder and Brileigh Bock each chipped in a team-high 19 points for Glidden-Ralston. Kassidy Wenck and Tiela Janssen were the Wildcat’s second-leading scorers with seven points. Alivya Smith scored a team-high 21 points for Paton Churdan. Kaliyah Minnehan was the Rockets second leading scorer with 16 points.
With the win, Glidden-Ralston improves to 5-16 on the season. Paton Churdan falls to 0-20. The Rockets are back in action on Thursday against Coon Rapids-Bayard. The Wildcats take on Fort Dodge St. Edmond on Thursday at home.
