IKM-Manning dropped their second game to start the season, falling to third ranked Panorama. The Panthers took charge early, using full-court pressure to create turnovers and turning those into points. They led 7-0 before Abbigail Neilheisel scored on a baseline jumper for the Wolves. The Panthers responded with an 11-0 run to lead 18-5 midway through the 1st quarter. Anna Stangl hit a three for the Wolves and Taylor Beckendorf scored inside but the Wolves trailed 33-8 at the end of the 1st quarter. Panorama backed out of the full court press in the 2nd quarter and IKM-Manning was able to get into their halfcourt set. They scored 12-points in the quarter with buckets from Abbigail Neilheisel, a three from Anna Stangl and a three from Emma Reginato. Panorama wasn’t able to get out and run as much in the 2nd quarter, scoring 19-points to lead 52-20 at half.
They game went into continuous clock in the 3rd quarter as the Panthers came out firing. A pair of three’s from Tyme Boettcher put them up 58-20. Emma Reginato scored for IKM-Manning, then Taylor Beckendorf went on a run with four straight baskets as the Wolves outscored Panorama 10-2 in the 4th quarter. IKM-Manning won the second half, 14-10.
Taylor Beckendorf and Anna Stangl both had 10-points in the win with Beckendorf leading the team with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Abbagail Neilheisel added 6-points and Emma Reginato scored 5-points.
The Wolves fall to 0-2 as they head to Riverside on Friday.
