Kuemper, South Hardin, Marshalltown and Hampton Dumont At Roland Story
Kuemper went a perfect 4-0 in matches and 8-0 in sets, sweeping all four opponents, including 7th ranked South Hardin. Kuemper gave the Tigers their second loss of the season, avenging a loss from earlier this year at the Humboldt Tournament. Kuemper won 21-17 in both sets, controlling the match at the net with their block. They had seven blocks in the match led by two each from Brianna Wittrock and Frannie Glynn. Kaci Peter led 21 kill attack in their win over Marshalltown, finishing with a team high 8 kills. The Knights won both sets handily. That trend continued in their win over Roland Story as the Knights hit it well, but their serve kept the Norseman out of system, finishing with 10 aces. Hampton Dumont pushed the Knights but the Knights won 21-15, 21-17 behind 23 kills by the team.
Kaci Peter had a team high 25 kills with Frannie Glynn at 22 kills, Lauren Boell with 15 kills, Brianna Wittrock 14 kills and Aubrey Heuton with 13 kills. Karsyn Overmohle led the setters with 45 assists to go with 4 digs while Elsa Tiefenthaler finished with 43 assists, 11 digs and 4 aces. Kaylie Simons led a strong performance by the back row, finishing with 37 digs with Brianna Wittrock and Tiefenthaler both with 11 digs. Brianna Wittrock and Frannie Glynn both had 4 blocks with Alivia Schenkelberg finishing with 3 blocks. Aubrey Heuton had another strong night serving with a team high 8 aces. The Knights had 24 aces for the night.
Kuemper improves to 28-4 overall. They will head to Glenwood on Tuesday on KIKD 106.7.
