Audubon was able to control the game on the ground, rushing it 55 times for 286-yards while Coon Rapids Bayard ran 44 plays on offense. The Crusaders had success through the air, throwing for 140-yards but ran for just 68-yards on 25 carries, averaging 2.7-yards per carry. Evan Alt and Aaron Olsen did the damage for the Wheelers with Alt running for 182-yards and Olsen finishing with 104-yards. Though the yardage and plays ran were heavily in the Wheelers favor, the Crusaders were in the game all the way, leading early and falling by only six-points.

Coon Rapids Bayard scored first on the third play of the game. Wyatt Oswald hit Cal Heydon for a 42-yard touchdown pass.The 2-point conversion put them up with 11:38 left in the 1st quarter. They held the lead until late in the 1st quarter, forcing the Wheelers to turn it over on downs on their first drive. The Wheelers defense came up with a stop and Audubon took over at the Crusaders 37-yard line. Evan Alt scampered for 17-yards on the first play. Three plays later Alt scored on an 11-yard run, tying the game at 8 with 3:29 left in the quarter. It stayed tied into halftime as the Crusaders stopped the Wheelers at the goal line with 7:44 left in the half.

Audubon took their first lead in the 3rd quarter, taking the opening possession down the field. Aaron Olsen scored on a 9-yard run, putting them up 14-8 with 8:57 left in the 3rd. Coon Rapids Bayard drove, getting to the Wheelers 16-yard line but came up short on a 4th and 10. Audubon marched down the field, scoring with 10:07 left in the game on a 4-yard run by Evan Alt. The 2-point conversion extended the lead to 22-8. Coon Rapids Bayard wasted little time cutting into the deficit. They marched down the field, scoring on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Wyatt Oswald to Cal Heydon. The 2-point conversion made it 22-16 with 6:54 left. Audubon ate up the clock with their ground attack, but turned it over on downs at the Crusaders 14-yard line with 1:05 left. Aaron Olsen picked off a pass to end the game as the Wheelers were able to take a knee.

Evan Alt ran for 182-yards and a pair of touchdowns for Audubon while Aaron Olsen went for 104-yards and a touchdown. Austin Christensen led the Wheelers with 7.5 tackles.

Wyatt Oswald went 10-18 for 140-yards and pair of touchdown for Coon Rapids Bayard. Cal Heydon had 5 catches for 82-yards and both touchdowns. Oswald also led the Crusaders with 13 tackles.

Audubon has won 4 straight, improving to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the district. They host Glidden Ralston for the district lead on 93.7 KKRL on Friday. Coon Rapids Bayard falls to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the district. They head to St Edmond on Friday.
