Kuemper rolled to a three set win on Tuesday at Shenandoah, beating the Trojans with a smothering defense and the weapons they have at the net. The Knights finished with 39 kills with seven different players having at least 2 kills. The block was sharp, finishing with 9, led by Frannie Glynn, who had 4 blocks. That helped take pressure off the back row, which played well, finishing with 43 digs. Kaylie Simons had a team high 12 digs. Kuemper held Atlantic to single digits in one set and nearly did in the opening set, winning 25-10. The Trojans scored a total of 32-points in the three sets.
Aubrey Heuton and Frannie Glynn both finished with a team high 10 kills with Kaci Peter adding 8 kills and Lauren Boell with 5 kills. Karsyn Overmohle had a big night setting, finishing with 21 assists, while adding 8 digs. Elsa Tiefenthaler added 14 assists and 3 aces, leading the team. Frannie Glynn added a pair of aces.

Kuemper rolled through the first-two sets on Tuesday at Shenandoah but had to fight hard to win the third set for the sweep. The Knights held the Fillies under 15-points in building a 2-0 lead, but won by four in the final set as Shenandoah didn’t go down without a fight. The Knights finished the match with 37 kills, with nine different players recording a kill. Franne Glynn paced them with 10 kills, while Aubrey Heuton and Lauren Boell both finished with 6 kills. Karsyn Overmohle continued her strong night setting with a team high 19 assists while adding a pair of aces. Elsa Tiefenthaler added 12 assists to go with a pair of aces. Kuemper had 8 blocks on the night with Frannie Glynn having 2 and six other players with 1. Kaylie Simons continues to be smooth in the back row, having a team high 19 digs with Brianna Wittrock showing her really strong all-around skills with 12 digs. Wittrock added a pair of aces as Kuemper had 7 in the match.
The pair of wins improves Kuemper to 25-4 overall and 7-0 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference. Kuemper is off until Monday when they head to Roland Story for a tournament with four other teams.

East Sac struggled in serve receive into the 4th set but found themselves in time to rally for a hard fought five set win over ACGC. The Charges came out the aggressor, putting the Raiders on their heals early with deep serves. East Sac became the more aggressive team in set four, after getting down 12-6. They took control of the match from there on, outscoring the Chargers 34-20.
East Sac hung tough as set one featured eight ties and four lead changes. The Chargers took their final lead at 15-14 and built the lead to 21-17. A theme though most of the first-two sets was ACGC getting up by 3-5 points and East Sac tying it or cutting into the lead, but not able to get over the hump. The Raiders tied set one at 21 and 23 but the Chargers scored the final two points to take a 1-0 lead.
Things started better in set two for a moment as the Raiders took a 1-0 lead but they quickly fell behind 2-1. The early part of set two had three lead changes and three ties but ACGC took control at 4-3, pushing the lead to 8-4. Kamryn Ross and Addisen Ehler had back-to-back kills with Kate Vondrak following up with an ace as the Raiders pulled even at 8. ACGC went back ahead but Kenna Meyer tied it at 10. The Chargers answered with a 4-0 run before Kenna Meyer had a kill, followed by a kill from Kate Vondrak. The lead grew back to 4, but Kendall Quirk had an ace serve, pulling the Raiders within 17-15. Again ACGC built the lead back to four but the Raiders responded again. Kendall Quirk and Kate Vondrak had back-to-back kills, cutting it to a one point game and ACGC had an error, tying the game at 21. The Raiders grabbed the lead on another Charger error and went on to score the final four points, ending the set on a block from Kendall Quirk.
Kenna Meyer put East Sac ahead with a kill to start the third set but ACGC scored four straight. Kendall Quirk put the Raiders up after a Kate Vondrak kill, with East Sac up 5-4. The Chargers tied the set at 5 and 7 and took the lead for good at 8-7. They went up by three but the Raiders worked to tie it at 10 on a ace from Kate Vondrak. The Raiders kept it at one to two points but a 6-0 run by ACGC put the set away, giving them a 20-12 lead. Kate Vondrak scored three straight points for East Sac late but they fell 25-18.
The Raiders struggled against the Chargers serve most of the night and it began that way in set four with ACGC going up 4-0. East Sac answered with a pair of points off kills from Kate Vondrak and Kamryn Ross. Ross kept them down two moments later with her second kill of the set. ACGC slowly pulled away, going up 12-6 but a Kendall Quirk kill gave the Raiders some life. Kate Vondrak cut it to 12-9 with a kill and East Sac kept chipping away as ACGC started tipping and pushing on a regular basis for the first time all-match. Kamryn Ross tied it at 15 with a kill and East Sac took their first lead of the set at 16-15. ACGC tied it at 16 but the Raiders pulled ahead with kills from Kenna Meyer and Kamryn Ross. A Kendall Quirk kill made it 22-17 and the Raiders ended it with a kill from Addisen Ehler to send it to set five.
East Sac never trailed in set five and were tied only twice at 1 and 2, before building a 5-2 lead on a kill by Kate Vondrak. The Chargers stayed within a couple points until Kamryn Ross put the Raiders up 11-8 with a kill. East Sac pulled away down the stretch, securing the win on a kill by Kenna Meyer, winning it 15-10.
Kate Vondrak led a balanced attack at the net with 9 kills, followed by Kenna Meyer and Addisen Ehler both with 7, Kendall Quirk and Kamryn Ross each with 6. Vondrak added 23 assists with Sidney Bieret with 9 and Ella Wilson off the bench with 7 assists. Addisen Ehler had a team high 17 digs with Jen Aschinger, who had a couple long service runs in the first-two sets finishing with 15 digs and Kenna Meyer with 14 digs. Kendall Quirk had a team high 2 blocks and Kate Vondrak led them with 3 aces.
The Raiders move to 18-6 overall and 6-0 in the Twin Lakes Conference as they head to Emmetsburg on Thursday.

The Carroll Tigers struggled on the offensive end against a good Ballard squad. Carroll fell down in the first set but fought hard to stay in it but fell to Ballard 25-13. The Tigers got off to a slower start in set number two, only recording four points as they lost 25-4 and fell down to Ballard 2-0. The third set was the best of the night as Carroll improved on mistakes made in the first two. The set was back and forth, but Ballard’s height was too much for the Tigers as they lost a close set three 25-20. With the loss, Carroll’s record falls to 4-14 and 1-3 in the Raccoon River Conference.
Olivia Rowedder, Amanda Wardell, and Emma Kuhlmann all recorded four kills in the match. Marasyn Wittrock had a good defensive game fly around the court as she picked up 17 digs. Rowedder and Wardell were also active at the nets defensively, as they recorded four of the Tiger’s eight blocks. Riley Nagl passed the ball well, recording 11 assists on the night. Carroll recorded three aces, with two coming from McKenna Schwertfeger. The Tigers are back in action on Thursday at Bondurant-Farrar.

The Audubon Wheelers picked up another conference win after Underwood tested the Wheelers on their home court. Audubon picked up a hard-fought 3-2 victory. All five sets were close, as neither team pulled away. After winning the first two sets 25-19 and 25-18, the Wheelers were looking good going into set number three. Needing a win to sweep Underwood, the Wheelers would drop a back-and-forth set 25-21 to the Eagles. Underwood scored another close win in set four, winning 25-22. With the win in set four, Underwood sent the match to a deciding set five, tied 2-2. Much like the others, the fifth set was back and forth, but the Wheelers made the most adjustments and came out on top 15-11 and beat Underwood 3-2.
Mattie Nielsen was a force at the nets, recording 18 kills. Harlow Miller also picked up double-digit kills with 11. Miller and Nielsen recorded 29 of the team’s 33 kills Tuesday night. Addie Hocker was excellent at distributing the volleyball as she recorded a team-high 29 assists for the Wheelers. Audubon combined for ten blocks at the net, with Addie Hocker and Mattie Nielsen recording three each. Despite struggling to serve at times, the Wheelers still recorded 17 aces. Audubon improved their record with the win to 12-6 and 2-2 in conference play. The Wheelers will be back in action on Thursday at IKM-Manning.

Ar-We-Va came out strong in the first set, showing improvement from the weekend. They continued to play hard but Woodbine took charge in sets two and three finishing off a sweep of the Rockets. The Rockets hung tough early in the match with a strong night at the net but Morgan Berg, who led them with 8 kills. Delaney Schurke was doing a strong job in the back row, digging up the Tigers attacks and giving her hitters a chance. Schurke finished the match with 15 digs while Amber Ragaller dished out 17 assists with five different players having at least one kill. Emma Lieting added 6 digs for the Rockets but it wouldn’t be enough. The Tigers held Ar-We-Va under 15-points in both the final two sets.
The loss drops the Rockets to 1-12 overall and 1-3 in the Rolling Valley. They host CAM on Thursday.

The Glidden-Ralston Wildcats fought hard at home against one of the Rolling Valley’s best teams. The Wildcats played well in the second and third set but struggled in the first and fourth. Boyer Valley jumped out to a big game one win right away over the Wildcats, winning 25-14. Glidden-Ralston adjusted in the second set, but Boyer Valley still came out with the win 26-24. The Wildcat’s best set was the third as they picked up a close win 25-22. Glidden-Ralston struggled in the fourth set and fell to Boyer Valley 25-10 and lost at home 3-1.
Lauren Hulsing led the Wildcats in kills, recording 14 against Boyer Valley. Ashlynn Tigges, Brileigh Bock, and Kassidy Wench each had four kills in the matchup. Addy Boell passed the ball well, picking up a team-high 28 assists. Kassidy Wenck led the team in blocks, and she recorded two. Glidden-Ralston was good from the service line as they recorded ten aes as a team. Tiela Janssen recorded five aces. Tiela Janssen also went over a career milestone tonight, recording her 1,000 digs.

The IKM-Manning Wolves struggled on the road against a good Treynor team. Treynor came into the game undefeated, and the young Wolves had their hands full. IKM-Manning lost the first set 25-10. The Wolves adjusted in the second set but fell 25-16 to Treynor. The third set was like the first. Treynor got out to a lead, and the Wolves were unable to come back as they lost 25-9 and 3-0 to Treynor.
IKM-Manning struggled at the nets, only recording ten kills on the night. Megan Williams led the team in kills with five. Addisyn Bandow was second on the team with three kills. Ella Richards recorded a team-high seven assists for IKM-Manning. With the loss, IKM-Manning’s record falls to 2-10. The Wolves are back in action on Thursday at home against Audubon.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders picked up a close 3-2 victory over West Harrison on the road. The first two sets were close, as one needed extra time to finish. The Crusaders fell down 1-0 after a close set one loss 25-22 to West Harrison. CRB picked up a set two win to even the match 1-1. The second set needed extra time to finish as it was close, with CRB picking up a 29-27 victory. The Crusaders came out flat-footed in the third set, trailing West Harrison early and losing 25-12. Trailing 2-1, CRB needed a set four win to even the match, and they did just that. The Crusaders made adjustments in the fourth set and came out with a 25-17 win to even the match up at 2-2. In the fifth set, CRB came out on top in a close 18-16 win to beat West Harrison 3-2 on the road.
Malia Clayburg continued her excellent start to the season as she led the Crusaders in kills with 15. Aubrey Hofbauer was also active at the nets, recording 11 kills. Hofbauer and Clayburg combined for 26 of the CRB 35 kills. Hofbauer was active defensively at the nets, leading the team with six blocks. As a team, the Crusaders recorded 16 blocks on the night. CRB served well, recording ten aces. With the win, The Crusaders’ record improved to 7-11. CRB is back in action on Thursday at home against Glidden-Ralston.
